    Bella Lining Fabric

Doe anyone know the name of the fabric Bella uses to line her costumes. I'm thinking it is a very thin acetate. Anyone know were I could get some?

I Agree, thin acetate. I always see tons of it at any fabric store, and it's beyond cheap. Though I must admit, if you have choices for liner fabric, I'd prolly just go with a cotton... something more absorbent for the sweat so it doesn't soak straight through to the bedlah itself...

Thanks I thought so. I line my other costumes with cotton. Why does Bella line her costumes with such cheap fabric when the costumes are so expensive? If I lined a Bella in cotton would that take the resale value down? I usually just wash the costume in the washing machine, hand wash cycle and lay flat to dry. Makeup and other stuff washes out really well.

Cotton soaks up perspiration but acetate lining is very stain resistant. While perspiration might go right through acetate lining, it won't show much on the lining itself. Acetate lining material is easier when you have to line cut outs: you can easily manipulate the fabric into the desired cut-out shape. Cotton is harder to manipulate and shows more bulk when the seam allowance is folded underneath the lining.

I learned this the hard way when I was lining my pink Turkish costume with a gazillion cut-outs.
