Thread: Anyone tried a Jamila skirt from Bd store?

I'm thinking about ordering a Jamila skirt from the BD store but am also considering making one - has anyone tried one of these? I'm wanting a white one and am needing to know how sheer it is and how durable the fabric is.

I have one in hot pink- bought it with a silver bedlah. But I sold the bedlah without wearing it, so I've never worn the skirt- I don't have anything to wear it with at the moment.

It's very cute, and the color is gorgeous. I was a little surprised at the fabric- it is thinner than I was expecting. I kept mine so far, because I still think that it would be a good piece to have and wear (not tons- I don't think it would hold up, but to wear sometimes)- if I get something to wear it with someday.

I have one in ice blue. Like Amara said, the fabric is thinner than I expected although it is not sheer at all. It has a nice feel to it. It is very shimmery and light, not too hot. There is only one size, luckily it fit me well. There is a zipper down the back and the band has no elastic. The shape is not as "trumpeted" as LRose trumpet skirts. I would think it would hold up fine for occasional use. Overall, I'm quite pleased with it.
