What's the most COMFORTABLE costume you own?

I love all my blingy, fringe-y sparkly costumes, but most of them are downright uncomfortable and I can't wait to get out of them as soon as possible after a performance. There are sequins that poke and scratch under your arms, or a halter strap on a bra with heavy fringe that pulls on your neck. Tight bra band digging into your ribs, fringed belts or skirts that you can't sit down in, dance shoes that begin to pinch after half an hour, etc. etc.

Sometimes I find it necessary to stay in my costume, with a cover-up, when I am also performing as a musician, or sometimes for other reasons.

Have you found any good compromise between glamorous/sparkly and comfortable?

My "Gypsy" fake-lore style costumes are the most comfortable ones that I own, because I can wear a decorated lingerie bra under a vest or choli, the skirts are full, and the coin belts are fairly comfortable. But I don't perform that style often.

Second best is my L Rose stretch velvet beledi dress, but I usually wear it with a beaded bedlah, so it's not quite as comfortable.

I think that glam = uncomfortable. Comfort just isn't as hot!

Please post some pics of your comfortable costumes, just for fun! I will post some of mine soon.

This costume that I made for myself (and have since sold) - it was like wearing a pair of sweats. It was so stretchy and easy and comfortable and soft (velvet). And I thought it still looked very glamorous.

Admittedly it was a halter, but it was light weight and I don't have much to hoist, so that never bothered me much.

Really any of my dresses. Most of which are beaded, but they are all lovely to wear.

The only other is my paillette dress which I wear over a tank top and melos. with a hip scarf. It really is wearing a pair of sweats! ;-)

My Saidi dress with a hipscarf is the most comfortable I own.

I'm also very comfortable in my orange Hoda.

My Bedouin dress. I have Oriental costumes that are comparatively comfortable, but, for pure comfort value, it's tough to beat wearing a sack!

I have a blue mesh Beladi dress with silver sequins and beads. It looks great on me and is super comfy, but I hardly ever get a chance to wear it.

I have come to the conclusion that I prefer to make all my own costumes because I can make them perfectly comfortable. I can wear any of them for multiple hours and be happy!

My Sahar, the one in my profile pic. A very close runner up would the one costume I made for myself, which is a black and silver hip scarf turned bedlah.

Love looking at all of your comfortable costumes! Here is one of my most comfortable ever, but I couldn't sit down in it:

The most comfortable costume I have is one of these incredibly fringey "magic stretch" dresses. I have a royal blue with gold fringe.

I really fancy one of those!
I have glamorous dresses and a super sparkly gelabeya but all take some getting in and out of and might be a bit scratchy. I suppose we should all suffer for our art LOL but the Hannan gelabeya..yeeesss. One item I can dance in, sit down in and party all night in and strip off in one move when I get home.
