    zodiac costume

Maybe it's the lunar eclipse that got my thoughts in this direction... how cool it would be to make a costume based on the stars.

Imagine a costume made of midnight blue velvet and chiffon with a belt with either the zodiac symbols or the actual constellations beaded out, with larger gems as the stars. Alternating blue and silver strands of seed beads could give a star dust affect to the belt. The straps and outsides of the bra cups could make up the sparkly milky way. One arm could be the moon and the other the sun, and in the center of the bra - a shooting star.

Maybe it's silly, but I think it's a cool concept.

And if it weren't $45 a yard, this beaded silk chiffon from Denver Fabrics might be perfect.

I love the idea! I have a weakness for stylized representations of the cosmos (hmm... which sounds really odd when I say it out loud), and I think this costume could be fabulous.

I love the idea, and as an astronomy fan I thought of it too. Every now and then a "moon and stars" costume will float thru the swap forum, but I have yet to see anything exactly like I'd want.

it's not crazy, it's cool! I like themed costumes..I've always wanted one that represents my country's flag (Bosnia)...yellow and blue, with stars...tee hee. something very subtle though but obvious enough where it would remind people of it.
