Thread: Childrens (Preferably silk) Bellydance Veils

I am looking for 9 silk rectangular childrens bellydance veils. I have tried a few of my regular 3 yard ones on my students who are 8-11 years old and it works for some but it would be better if I had childrens sized ones. I need 3 green, 3 blue, and 3 purple, and I need them to be as cheeeeap as possible, where can I get them? I will also buy in wholesale. Please help! Thank you!

Do you have a nice fabric store nearby? I made one for one of my kids. 1 1/2-2 yrds with a 45" width worked perfectly and I just had to hem the raw edge.

I think what you need is not only something shorter than 3 yards (2.5 would be my recommendation), but also something less than 45" wide. I had a very petite dancer (under 5') in my student troupe once, and her veil gave her all kinds of hell until we ripped it from 45" to about 40".

I actually think I could do that! I'll just have to find a reasonably priced fabric store. I typically use Jo-Ann's Fabrics but they run on the pricey side. Thank you :-)

You're welcome. If you end up having to go to Joanns anyway you can get a coupon by going to their site and signing up for their mailing list (Joann.com link at bottom of page). I never buy from them without one if I can help it. ssipes is right that a smaller width would be good too, I just wouldn't go wider then 45" or less then 36".

Hehehe I do the same coupon thing when I shop at Michael's of Bed, Bath, and Beyond! I definitely will shorten the width as well, I have visions of veils being dragged on the floor and stepped on and it's killing me! hahaha
