Re: *New* 'What are you working on?' thread.
So I have finally finished the front of my belt. The fringe isn't attached yet tho. That will be last since I am still making it. What do y'all think? And for those who are following the Neon thread, I want honest opinions, don't be scared, I won't use it against you later!,r:;

Re: *New* 'What are you working on?' thread.
I had thought about that but the stuff that I tried out made it look a little busy and confused. It really does sparkle I just can't get the photos to look like it. My friends/family say I live in a cave because the lighting in my apartment is so dim. I may play a little more with it. It won't be the first time I took things out of this or added something that I wasn't planning.

Here's some (very low quality!) pics of the skirt I made to go with my tribaret bra..now only the belt to go!

Ha ha, yes, I agree, I feel like I know what I'm doing now, whereas at first I was stumbling around in the dark. I spent as much time unpicking mistakes as I did sewing!

Re: *New* 'What are you working on?' thread.
My progress on my purple bra/belt it is so close to being done! I just need to sew down the medallions in the center and finish the hooks on th bra.
Then it will be wearable- I eventually plan to add a little more glitz on the bra straps and maybe some trim around the bra and belt...but not until after the our July show- too many other projects!

Hey Jen,
Did you once post that you had a pattern or instructions for flared pants (faux melos I guess)? I would love a copy. jet-girl (at) sbcglobal (dot) netLast edited by jetgirl; 05-15-2008 at 02:34 PM.

Re: *New* 'What are you working on?' thread.
I am back on working on my white and silver bedlah.
First I have made the fringe on a satin ribon: (sorry about the yellowish pics)

Then sew the fringe on both back and front belt parts:

The lining is done, got to put the hooks, and I am going back to finish the bra.
TO CONTINUE...
Ciao!

Dark nighttime picture of finished product. The bra is too small for me and it's all held up with office clips right now, but I am not the final owner.

Here's a very rough sketch of my new baby coming soon next week (vacation-yay!) I just bought 82 feet of silver-plated rhinestone chain...envision a ton of bling!

Re: *New* 'What are you working on?' thread.
Here's one of the things I've been working on.
Inspired by some recent threads concerning midriff covers and the method of making one yourself from Danskin fishnet tights, I went to the little dance store here in town only to find there was nothing suitable in the fishnet genre. Undaunted, I bought a body-tight thingie with the little clear straps and cut off the legs, turned it sideways to put the seams at the side rather than up the center of the front and back, and sewed them to a pair of undies... fleshtone panties not being in my drawer right now, I settled for some black bikinis.
I stitched the edge of the hose with a zigzag stitch and pulled both hose and undies onto my faithful inflatable Mr. Blobby that I brought back from England many moons ago. Then I handsewed it very carefully and painstakingly together, inside out. Then all I had to do was reposition two of the little catches for the straps. It's not shiny unless there's a flash camera in the vicinity!
I may keep Mr. Blobby around for similar projects involving stretchy fabric. Best thing is, he's deflatable! Doesn't he coordinate nicely with that tie dye veil? .w.:

Re: *New* 'What are you working on?' thread.
Linnyg, Mr. Blobby was a character that some English soap opera star doodled while sitting around on the set one day... if memory serves. Somebody decided to market the character, y'know, saw on opportunity to make a buck. I don't think Mr. Blobby ever took a stand on the issues, he just kind of showed up at clubs and stuff and blathered "Blobby Blobby Blobby!" Pretty mindless.
When I went to England he was already becoming "so last year", but I found this balloon and we even had our picture taken with him as a background in one of those little photo booths. My quest for Blobby started when I saw a thing on 60 minutes or one of those news shows... trying to explain the Blobby phenomenon in the UK and wondering if we needed something like him here in the US, and what that might say about us if we DID....

Re: *New* 'What are you working on?' thread.
Aaaagh! Please no! Don't torture me any more with that horrible ugly thing!
I hoped I would never have to set eyes on the hideous Mr Blobby ever again.
If you insist on using him as a mannequin I'll keep fingers crossed that he has a serious accident involving a sharp pair of scissors and some pins...
