I am going to cover the cups. its just tacked on for sizing. I decided to do the black and red alternating scales instead because I found some fantastic red and black harlequin fabric <3

ok put the last bead today on my Pink Swirl just before the performance for Heritage Day festival:)
Pics are kind of crapy, does not give a sparkle justice at all!
The last picture is giving the right color of the fabric but still cant see the silver foil sparkly dot all over it

well I went boogie boarding today guess it was a nice start to the month..

Last month, I posted pictures of my bra for the pink and brown costume and I wasn't happy with how it turned out. So I ended up ripping it out and I am much happier with it now...

Here is a little something i have been working on for my client. She had this gorgeous yellow pharonix skirt but wanted a bra and banding to make it a full costume. Here is the progress of the bra with the design we came up with and its coming out perfectly. All I need now are straps, add fringe to the skirt, and to decorate the band around the skirt. i will post finished pics when i am done in the next couple weeks :)

I finally finished adding the fringe to my gold bedlah. It feels like the fringe took almost as long as making the rest of the costume. Last thing I've got to do is line the bra. I just ordered a L Rose reversible chiffon pro circle skirt in red and gold and matching arm bands with long circular drapes. Yay! Can't wait to see them all together. I'm thinking about making little gold arm bands I can wear with the L Rose drapes or by themselves.

Beautiful work, Shuahanna. I particularly like the belt shape. It's super flattering on you.

This is absolutely gorgeous. Please do post pics with the skirt when you get it, I'd love to see the entire outfit. It's sure to be knockout!

no "real" costuming at my house - that starts next month when we start to mermaid'ize the troupe for a big show in November. But I did get 3 monkeys mailed off in July, and another this past week:

Not a whole lot of progress on the pink and brown, but I did start to make the trumpet skirt using shushanna's directions.

Anyway, I thought these pics were funny because you can see my messy sewing station on the couch. LOL.

I just picked up this pattern and the outter fabric and sleeve flounce contrast fabric this weekend. Im picking up the lining fabric tonight (silk dupioni. had to wait because my 50% off coupon didn't start till yesterday)
so Im planning on starting that, as well, I got some shells and yarn and thread to make some tassels for a friend.
I figure those are both good projects to work on while Im recovering from surgery next week and not supposed to be doing much other than sitting at my desk (UGH!)

It's so happy!

This has always been and will probably always be my favourite thread to stalk on the boards. I love seeing what everyone comes up with and the beautiful work. This months are awesome as usual!

Currently working on a bra with belt/skirt combo. Will be decorating it crystal with royal/cobalt blue, maybe some aqua, not sure yet. I have a "plan" but like every other costume I've done, I never seem to stick with my plan:/

Also the skirt panels are done by my grandma, I'm currently learning. I can now cut the panels. Woo hoo, baby steps lol. The bra/belts/decorating are my job, while I improve my machine sewing skills and aspire to one day be as good on a sewing machine and pattern drawing/cutting as my grams.

I also re-worked what was supposed to be my aqua pearl project..it is not becoming a mirror costume, similar to what Sahar does. It'll probably be the fastest costume I have ever made. All I need to do is order more super glue for jewelery (since that's the only way to attach these mirrors), line the bra and belt, and figure out what king of skirt to make.
