Sewing Paillettes onto premade fringe
So, I have this idea for a multicolored costume. I was hoping to find multi-color fringe with paillettes on it and couldn't find any in stock. I custom ordered some from Horus and Isis and didn't like it, so I sold it. I've now found some in stock multi-color fringe from Turquoise International and ordered it. The TI fringe doesn't have paillettes on it. I'm thinking of sewing some real funky colored/shaped paillettes onto the bottom bead of the fringe and was wondering if anyone else has done this and what tips you could share?
I'm already using multi-colored hologram sequins and thought these holographic paillettes (also in multi) would look cute at the end of the fringe. I probably will only put one on every two or three strands. Here's a pic of the paillettes I'm thinking of using in red.

Love multi colour costumes and Piallettes!
You could add bunches of fringe edged with piallettes at intervals. Addint hte piallettes to the ready made fringe might take a long time, with rethreading every third string.

Re: Sewing Paillettes onto premade fringe
My intention wasn't to re-string anything. I'm thinking I can just sew a paillette onto the bottom of the strands that I want paillettes on. I may just have to experiment and see what works best.

Re: Sewing Paillettes onto premade fringe
I have just sewn them onto the end of the strand of fringe with regular thread...just sew back and forth a few times so it good and secure....I love the look and it comes out great...I did it every few strands, not on every one.

Thanks for the reply Genie. What you described is what I'm envisioning. I don't plan on sewing one onto every strand. I think in this case, it would be too much.
