Thread: Best body concealers?

I am on a search for the most effective body foundation/concealer. One that I can really use to cover a fairly large area of the body. I got sunburnt yesterday (sooo stupid -- I am extremely careful in the sun and 'went pale' a few years ago so I try to keep from even getting a slight tan). It's on my shoulder and arm, mostly on one side. This would be a concealer for day-to-day use rather than the stage, so I want it to work, obviously, but without looking like I'm, you know, lathered in a load of concealer. Luckily I usually wear long sleeves, so I wouldn't have to cover the whole burned area every day.
I have heard that Vichy Dermablend foundation is good and can be used to cover tattoos and so on.
Anyone used it? Any other recommendations?
I'm not very experienced with sunburn obviously, so any other tips on how I could make it heal faster would be great.

What tone are you in the MAC terminology,are you very pale?

One of the fastest ways to calm down a sunburn is to apply a cortisone lotion/cream(about 1% will do)It´s not good for the skin in the long run(thins out skin)so remember...you didn´t hear this from me;)

I use NC15 MAC products, so yes, very pale.

I haven't heard a word from you about lotions...

Dermablend is fantastic and mostly waterproof. Color will stain the inside of your costumes.

MAC face and body foundation is fantastic. Even better when layered over their heavy duty tattoo cover strength studio fix concealer. With a little patience and layering you can literally hide a tattoo!

Kat Von D Tattoo cover is very pricey for the small tube, but also works well.

Thanks. Do you think the lightest Dermablend shade (opal 15) would be light enough for me if I use MAC NC- or NW15? There are only 4 Dermablend shades so not much choice. Unfortunately I would have to order it online because I can't find it in stores here and can't get it in person until I return to Ireland in two weeks, but I want the coverage now. So I'm trying to make sure it's what I really want.

The interwebs are powerful but not that powerful I have no idea how to advise you on that without seeing you, sorry. I can tell you that I used the 2nd lightest color Dermablend when I had a healthy dose of self tanner and you can see from my pic how ghost white I am naturally.
If its too light, you can powder over it with your regular color face powder to normalize it.

I had read some reviews that indicated it wasn't all that light, but of course, I didn't realise you don't have telepathic vision.

I believe that an alternative that will work for you and is easy to find is Hard Candy´s "Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer"in the "Light"shade.

It is avaliable on Walmart for 6$-very,VERY good for being so dirt cheap(seen it cover tattoos almost completely)

Over the weekend I had a performance planned in a very leggy carwash skirt. Due to a backpacking trip, I have hundreds upon hundreds of chigger bites over my entire body... looks like chicken pox!

In desperation, I found Sally Hansen's spray-on leg makeup at Walgreens. I had to spray paint my entire body, from neck to ankles. I was in 6 dances in the show, had 5 costume changes, and the leggy costume was the last one. I really didn't expect the stuff to stay on through all that sweating & changing. I let it dry thoroughly and topped it off by press-patting loose powder all over me to 'set' the makeup and hoped for the best.

I was AMAZED. Although the linings of my costumes all have some tint on them, the stuff really stayed on my body. The coverage was intense, not one bit of pink showed through on any of the bites. Even when I got in the shower after the show, I didn't really see color run off me until after I soaped up!

Not sure if the light color would be light enough for you, but maybe layering your regular foundation over it after it dried would do the trick?
