Re: Is there a seamless midriff cover anywhere?
Yep, that is the way to do it! There is one business here that sews skin colored underwear on them at the top has a really cool elastic band that has button holes. All you have to do is sew a few flat buttons on the inside of the bra and you can use the net for many other costumes.

I received the Danskin tights but haven't had time to try them on. Been sick and also overwhelmed with stuff. I will try to post later today about them.

Re: Is there a seamless midriff cover anywhere?
Okay, here's the report: The Danskin professional women's fishnet tights #203 - they seem to be very strong, almost a plastic-y feel. I ordered one size larger than my size and they are big enough to just pull up and attach to the bottom of the bra. But I will probably cut off the legs since I don't normally wear dance shoes (though I would like to get some some time - another thread). I am fair but not super pale and the color is good for me. I will try following the directions about cutting them at an angle and sewing together a new crotch -later, when I'm clear headed. Having a sinus infection is kind of slowing down the mental processes, y'know.
No "trampoline back" on me, but I'm built kind of straight up and down in that area. (sigh.)

Re: Is there a seamless midriff cover anywhere?
Wanted to revive this thread! After reading all, I think I just might be the type that prefers something already made for me. I'm ok with paying a bit more if I can get it now and it's done. So I'm thinking of ordering the unicorn cover.
Anala, or anyone else - we've established that it's simply the danskin fishnets, but is it also sewn to some type of panty?
I went out and got some fishnets (Capezio was all that was available) and tried the leg-cut-off/pull-up-to-the-bra thing. My torso is so long it's not comfortable. When attached to the bra, the fishnets just want to yank my bra down and it makes my straps dig into my shoulders. So I'd rather have plenty to work with, and I think the addition of a "panty" would be helpful.
Can anyone who has these describe, or better yet, take a photo? I'd be most grateful! ..g.:

Re: Is there a seamless midriff cover anywhere?
No panty on the ones I got in the begining of this thread. I am weary of the butt floss effect so I cut out what passed for a crotch and am now sewing them into a pair of my panties. Will take a photo of the project on my dummy.

AC...that looks way too opaque. I really do like the look of what I have...big open fishnet that disappears at a distance. No "sausage casing" look.

Excellent point Anala...I think I was still dazzled by all of the colors they have in the non-fishneted tights, and pondering if they might be useful too.
lol

Re: Is there a seamless midriff cover anywhere?
well, crud! so how exactly are they "re-manufactured for dancers" then? At any rate, you mentioned it allows *plenty* of torso length, true? ...Course I just realized they only sell black and tan, and I most definitely need light toast, as I'm very fair. Ugh. I think I'm going to have to use these capezio ones I got and attach them to a panty myself. How the heck am I gonna sew down fishnet? help, someone!

One thread at a time!!! I too am fair, but they really do blend well. See my gallery photo standing next to Mesmera...you will notice the belly area is matt and the midriff cover is invisible while my leg is ever so shiny due to the hose with the feet cut off...wont be doing that again!

Re: Is there a seamless midriff cover anywhere?
the color and texture just look fantastic, anala!
I'm very happy with my capezio version, too. It's doing wonders for my midsection. Ok, so I guess I gotta get some panties and start sewing. I think I'm gonna go for some boy shorts.
so, the unicorn version didn't have a panty attached, then? I'm still confused. What do they have that makes it longer, then?

I think its just the angle in which the legs are cut off and the crotch resewn. It's F'n magic? At least my toenails matched my skirt!

The elastic-with-buttonholes sounds like the elastic they put in adjustable waists in kids clothing - might be available in sewing shops these days.
Yay this site rocks! I just got some swatches from a lovely eBay seller, but they are all way too dark.
. Time to check out the dance tights and get snipping - thanks ladies!

Re: Is there a seamless midriff cover anywhere?
I STILL can't get used to seeing my belly wobble when I do a knee shimmy...I'll have to bite the proverbial bullet and get me one of those! I've been haunting their website for weeks and now I'm convinced if I'm to wear my beeyoootiful little bedlah I bought from another Bhuzzer I'll need one of those amazing midriff covers. Thanks for the input! OOOOPS!!! I replied after reading page one....now I've read all off them and I'm going to do the DIY thing. I have some old leotards with nice low cut legs that would make great 'bases' for these covers. We have a dance shop here that I'm sure sells the Danskin...they're the seamless ones, right? Oh yeah...I got a serger to play with! Yay!

LOL...there I go, being confusing again. I was looking at these:
Danskin®*-*Women's UltraSoft Microfiber Footed Tight - Style 72 *-*Fitness, Dance and Yoga Apparel for Women and Girls
right before looking at the body tight and didn't notice that they didn't have as many colors in the body tight

Re: Is there a seamless midriff cover anywhere?
Just buy the danskin seamless tights (style 202? Not sure) and cut off the legs. The ones from Unicorn are not even finished at the leg, you can do it yourself! Just find a dnce store near you.

Re: Is there a seamless midriff cover anywhere?
So I finally sewed my capezio fishnets to a panty and it turned out great. Cut out the crotch and sewed from that point. I ended up with plenty of length in the torso and no more yanking on my bra straps. It took me about an hour and a half to sew the front, and then I got confident (and had a deadline) and did the back in less than half the time of the front. (I'm kinda a slow and methodical type, though. Probably would take someone else less time.) Either way, it took forever, but it looked great. It's a LOT more comfortable with a regular panty at your crotch, rather than just fishnet, too. :)
