Is there a seamless midriff cover anywhere?
So I am watching a performance DVD and I see an elegant dancer who is no spring chicken...much like myself...and I notice that her midriff is ever so slightly darker than her cleavage, and she has a niffty bit of sparkle over her navel. Her belly has that Vargas pinup look but I see no side or back seams on her as she dances...any idea what she is wearing and where I can get one...like now?

11-29-2007 09:41 AM #4Do seamless midriff covers fit? Whenever I use something that doesn't have seams, it doesn't fit into the hollow of my back...how to explain...it stretches across the higher parts. Does that make sense? I hope so...

Wooo Hooo...went there and did that! I also ordered the brass mirrored set as I have been waiting to find a resourse for that as well. That is a fairly obscure little sight and would never have found her without your help
Thank you!!!

Re: Is there a seamless midriff cover anywhere?
Yesterday I went to my local dance store and bought Danskin seamless fishnet tights. I got one size bigger than my size on the chart, pulled 'em up to my bra and hooked 'em, and they worked out great in my performance last night. They were $26, a little cheaper than Unicorn's, and they come in a few colors (at least Black and Light Toast, which worked for me). You can cut off the legs or leave 'em be. The style number is 203, Professional Footed Fishnet Tights.

I buy nude seamless fishnet at Kohl's/JCPenny's for $5-7 and cut the legs off (leave them as shorts) and huck -em up to the bra and pin it. Works nifty!

Re: Is there a seamless midriff cover anywhere?
The midriff cover is here! That was fast! It is seamless as promised, and industrial strength as well! Holy fishnet, Batman, this thing could be used to haul in a tuna. Very retro looking. It works...it fits...and there is no trampoline in the back - but it sure aint panty hose material! The color is about right - cause the sugar petals thing was too white for my peach complextion..oh that sounds bad...and it had seams on the side. So...it's the real thing, an honest to god, middle eastern 70's looking midriff cover.....

trampoline back
I have a problem with that also, have tried various leotards, panty hose, but end up with it off my back. Perhaps it is because I curve in and then back out to my hiney? I'll check out the unicorn ones, but would like to find one that is not fishnet and fits tightly enough.

Amity, save the legs, cut off the feet, and you have gauntlets! Oh, and for a midriff cover with attached arms--cut off the feet, cut a hole out of the crotch and put it on upside down (over your head) and tuck into your belt (you may have to add some method of keeping it tucked, like pins or snaps)
Oh the things you learn in ballet class!

Re: Is there a seamless midriff cover anywhere?
I used the industrial strength tuna boat midriff cover that Jasani recommended the for first time this past weekend and the weekend before. Loved it!!! The more open weave prevented the "sausage casing" look, allowed my skin to breath, did not change the color of my skin, did not run and was invisible on stage. What it did do was to prevent the dreaded "skin shimmy" and the slight belly skin over lap that comes from collegen break and weight loss and can ruin your confidence. Thank you.....yall get one!!! Dont let the appearence of this thing scare you off....

Does anyone have a colored picture of someone wearing the Unicorn one.

I seem to have confused James Brown with Elvis in this shot...but as you can see, the midriff cover is invisible to the camers

Yes, that's what I wanted! I have a fleshtone one from Janie that I like, but it has a silvery sheen to it that makes me look fat on stage (I think).

I bought one, as well, and it didn't seem (ha!) visible. I liked it and I liked the fact that I didn't have to pin it to anything, stayed up on it's own.

Re: Is there a seamless midriff cover anywhere?
Well today I went to the Unicorn site to order the seamless midriff cover and thought that the price was reasonable. Filled in all the details and get to the total page with shipping, Holy c..p Batman all right, the cost for shipping to Australia was almost $34US, only a couple of dollars less than the item itself. I've had full costumes sent that didn't cost that much for shipping. Needless to say that is one item that's not going in my dance wardrobe.
