Thread: What would you call the print on this fabric? Seen it anywhere?

I have this dress

and am considering keeping it, but I'll need to replace the bra with one in my size. I've seen this fabric in stores and even bought some yardage in black with silver a couple of years ago, but in trying to find it online now I'm coming up empty.

If you were searching for the print, what might you call it?

Have you seen it locally in black with gold holo? If you'd be willing to buy me some, I'll happily pay you for your trouble.

If you'd like to take the dress off my hands and save me from doing the alteration, let's talk.

I suspect it would be called something like 'matrix' or 'laser'! It reminds me a bit of the patterns in the matrix, however fabric sellers usually make their own names up, so it's very hit and miss.

I found something similar, but it's black and silver/very expensive/in the UK.

They do call it 'matrix' though in this shop!!

Have found some more, again expensive, and in the UK, but they do have black and gold, although no pic so I'm not sure if it's holographic.
This one is called 'Las Vegas foiled venus' . No idea why!!

It´won´t be easy to find a matching fabric. I would make a black bra and try to copy the print with sequins or fabric colour.

joann fabric sells it in black with silver. its a halloween offering only. maybe their webstie woud have in gold

It looks like Lurex to me. Black lurex with thin stripes. Artemis Imports carries lurex scarves and veils, if her veils and your dress both came from Egypt there's a chance they might actually match or be close enough.

It may be impossible to match this fabric with something off the bolt from a fabric shop. I like the idea of making a solid black bra, then decorating it.
