Thread: Costume Names

Sooo i was wondering if i was the only one who names their costumes? i highly doubt it! I figured id start a thread to celebrate the names of our costumes past and present and help each other if we are stuck on names!

i have one that im having name issues with but i dont have a photo of her yet!

No worries! Besides, it's always fun to see new developments and costumes! We change, we grow, we shop!

ps i love the name radioactive!

I tend to refer my questions in a different way - for example, there's the "Competition costume" which I bought for a specific contest, or the "Tarab costume", which porbably never gets to dance any other pieces than tarab :)

However, this one was designed by one of my main teachers, Pille Roosi, for her advanced class at the time

There were twelve of us using that costume for a performance, and we laughed that with the metallic shine we look like a herd of Atlantic herrings on migration. I still call that costume that way, although my teacher used to be a bit annoyed by it. But I think she is getting used to it now

Heehee! That reminds me of the baladi dresses my troupe had, made from foil jersey. We were going for the fake assuit look, but they ended up being called the Bacofoil dresses. And not just for the way they looked!

loving the names though!! super entertaining!

Women name their belly dance costumes, whereas men name their....

Oh me too, but now I'm going to reconsider - these are fun!

I don't normally name my costumes - but my veils.... that's another story!
