Thread: L. Rose Beledi Dresses

The troupe I’m in ordered beledi dresses from L. Rose Designs recently. We had a dress rehearsal last week, and I can’t wait to wear them for a performance! Even though I know not everyone is crazy about the dresses, as a whole we look pretty darn good! I’ve never been in a troupe before with matching costumes, but I like the look.

We picked metal skin fabric, and it is very shiny. The fabric is thick too! Sweat shows up a little for some, but it’s not too bad. One of the dancers used dress shields and they worked well. The only problem any of us had was that some of the women who ordered larger sizes had huge necklines. Our solution was to put big darts in the back. The sleeves were also too long on the larger dresses, but they’re very easy to shorten at least.

I just thought I’d share because I couldn’t find too much information about the fabric when we were researching costumes before we ordered!

we've ordered crushed velvet beledi dresses with deluxe gores and love them. Our student troup wears black lycra straight skirt beledi dress. All the L. Rose items are very nice!
