Thread: oh resourceful ones..where to find DIY dancers?

Dearest dancers, i just received my first silk tiered creation (proper pictures pending)

it has my wheels spinning again about creating silk fabrics of various types that can be used by dancers who make their own costumes..other than tribe, where do I find them ?

I have loads of painted silk and velvet silk and charmeuse that I've dyed or played with and would love to collaborate with a skilled creative dancer or seamstress

Are you looking to sell fabric that you have dyed, or are you looking to start up a commission to dye fabric for people?
I personally would be interested in both.

For me personally, it would depend on the quantity you have. I would love to make some 3 panel skirts (I have 3 of yours which you were making years ago.) and would be willing to sew them myself if I could get three half circles which matched! Small half circles end up being 36".

I'm all ears..I'm just interested in working with other artists.. anyone who has a good eye and can sew maybe we can work out trades? I dye silk and you sew it into something cool :) So it would be very project based.. I can get all kinds of silk and if you go to PHOTO GALLERY at Home - Divine Dancing Silks and Island Wear you can see samples on habotai and other silks. I'm itching to paint a bunch of crepe de chine and make it into a really simple flowing 'evening dress' and create a monotone velvet burnout wrap to go with it (was just at a formal party and it would have been perfect)

lots of options.. would love to have silk sewn on to a bra and belt base ..maybe some island inspired dreamy clothing like long flowing skirts and bandeau tops with peacock feather tummy drapes and bright flower wristbands with tiny wrist veils..

not looking for profit on this..just collaborating :) making cool stuff together :)
