Thread: Post Pictures of your Self-Made Costumes!

Not sure if there is a thread already out there like this, I did a search....

BUT! I LOOOOOVE drooling over the "Pharonics" and "Bella" and "Sim" threads when people post pictures of their new costumes. After being a part of the "What Are you Working On" threads for so long, there is ample evidence that we have some wonderful creators amongst us already!

So here is where I would like to see pictures posted of your newest creations AND the creations you've made in the past! Contrary to the "WAYWO" thread, this one will feature all of the finished beauties that our awesome designers and creators have made.

Besides, it's nice to have a single thread to go back to when you want to oogle at the self-made pretties of the past

So I'll start:

"Fairy Godmother" This was one of my first professional-esque costumes I'd ever made! I originally made it for me, but the cups ended up becoming too small. I'm sure if I still had it, it would fit me now that I've dropped so many pounds, but I'm glad it found a good home :)


"Lynn" I made this baby in less than 3 days. My friend endured a really powerful hardship in the winter, and I had designed a snow leopard themed costume named after her. So I surprised her by making it and wearing it in a show. It made her so happy, and I'm really glad I could help her out :). It's veeeeerrrryyyyy big on me now, so I'm going to fix a few ouchies and sell it so I can revamp it and make a new and improved (not 3 day) "Lynn"


"Ruffle Fun" I got these black and pink appliques from a dance friend FOREVER ago but never got rid of them because I was sure I would find a use for them. And I did!

"My First Tribaret" I originally didn't intend to turn this into a Tribaret. In fact, I had no clue what to do with the fabric. It's so pretty and I got it for free, but I couldn't decide on a color to go with it. I was complaining about that to my roommate when we were at Joann's, then came across those purple and blue glass beads (they're those really electric ones if you ever go to the store). So I started whining about how I've always loved those but never had a use for them. Then it clicked! And then I found metal pieces and chain and more beads...and voila!


"Firework" Made this and a matching male's costume for a fire performance for the local gay club back in May. We danced to "Firework" by Katy Perry. I hate that song now after having listened to it a bazillion times.

"Baby Dancer" This was my very first costume I ever made. I was 15 years old. I just sold it to another dancer and have no emotional attachment to it that prevented me from letting it go. I'll always remember it though! After it was finished, I wore it almost every day of the summer and danced and pranced around my house in it :)
