    best mascara evarrrr!

for those of you who are friends with me on facebook, you probably have already seen this picture of me. i just wanted to share this with other bhuzzers

i have found an awesome mascara from sephora....and i just had to let you all know that it is totally worth $22

the mascara is called "they're real!" by benefit. something about the brush makes it look like you are wearing falsies. i will be heartbroken if this is ever discontinued!!

here is a photo of me during a show...check out my REAL lashes!!

It isn't waterproof but I think it (even if it isn't labeled as such) is quite water resistant.

This is the mascara I'm currently using. Not quite the look of false eyelashes, but my natural eyelashes are sucky (super straight and not terribly long) and I tend to wear absurdly large false eyelashes. However, this is one of the better mascaras I have used.

I also just bought this mascara a few days ago and I like it a lot. It does curl the lashes quite a bit and make them look really long, as long as the mascaras I've used that come with primers that you apply as the first step.

Got mine yesterday, just tried it for the first time.

    Wow!

Waiting to see how well it holds up... if it doesn't leave me all flaky, or smudged & racoony, this is my new mascara!

lauren, it doesn't flake at all on me...or smudge. it's great! the only things i don't really care for about this mascara is that i have to layer it to get the results i want (sometimes 3 coats, but usually just 2)...and it's a b*tch to wash off with just water. i have to remove it with makeup remover, but that's no biggie.
and i love that i don't need to use my lash comb after applying it.

Wow those are pretty impressive- maybe when my budget stricks up the nerve to walk back in there.

I love Sephora- just so expensive!!

I have the Maybelline falsies mascra- comes in the super pink big tube- I love it, and its probably half the cost. It makka me happy :)

A related rant: Is anyone besides me totally ANNOYED by the mascara commercials that say things like "you'll think you were wearing false lashes" and the models obviously ARE? Seems like extreme false advertising to me. (Or possibly "falsie" advertising.)

Yes! In little tiny letters, the ads always say, "Lash inserts applied" or something -

    Yes!

for those of you looking for a less expensive alternative, I've recently fallen in love with Maybelline's Falsies. I have the regular and the "flare" one, and they are both great. And pretty inexpensive!

But I do like the soft look of the mascara you posted - I may have to give it a try!

Mine isn't coming out with that nice soft look, more spikey... how did you get that look, Shaabi? Any application tips?

i don't really do anything special. i just put on at least 2 coats, and i usually run a lash comb thru it after it dries.

i close my eyes and do the topside of my lashes first, then open and do the other side second. i use the ball tip of the brush to get the tiny lashes in the corners of my eyes.

    i hope that helps!

    Re: best mascara evarrrr!

OK, I've been wearing this for a week or so now and yesterday after putting it on I realized I'd forgotten to curl my lashes. But then I looked in the mirror and thought I was wrong, they were curled.

Today I deliberately didn't curl them and, sure enough, after I put on the mascara they looked exactly as if I had curled them.

This is HUGE for me, because my lashes are very straight and difficult to curl. Frustrating, because curling my lashes makes a giant difference in my eyes' appearance.

I've tried every kind of mascara that claimed to curl my lashes since such products first appeared, 20 or 25 years ago, and gave up on them. No mascara has ever made a visible difference in the curl of my lashes before.

I just bought some at the Sephora in New York (I know I can get some at the Sephora in Durham, but that's not as much fun! ). At first I was skeptical, because like Daniela, I love my Maybelline Falsies. However, I think this stuff works a little bit better. It certainly doesn't flake as much. I am converted! (Although I do wish they carried it in Dark Brown).

Yes, me too! I have ALWAYS had to curl my lashes in order to be happy with them. Tarte's "Lights, Camera, Lashes also work very well for me without having to curl, in contrast with Diorshow which really weighs my lashes down. Did I mention that lashes are a major obsession of mine? I'm loving Sephora's sampler kits that indulge my mania. I could talk about eye products all day...

I hate this! They photoshop magazine ads too. I mean I KNOW mag ads are photshopped in general, but lately they are so obvious it makes me NOT want to buy the product.

Awwww! You naughty Bhuzzers, you made me spend $29cnd on a mascara!

... BUT I IT! I usualy go with the pink and green Maybelline tube, but take it from a girl with straight "elephant lashes" this stuff curls and lift my lashes and they stay like that all day.

I also like that it comes off nice and easy. With other brands, even after good cleaning, I regularely wake up with racoon eyes.

Okay- anyone with sensitive eyes try this yet? I am lusting after this mascara, but the very thought of trying a new brand makes my eyes burn. So far, I can use beauty without cruelty and larenim without a reaction, but that's it.

I will have to look for those...they look so natural. My downfall is make-up and recently picked up a mascara from Loreal called "Voluminous Million Lashes." Tried it out and yes, the lashes are longer and darker...not bad but it's not exactly doing what I want it to do. May have to splurge...

    I'm not feeling the love.

I went out and spent >$30 (with tax) on this mascara, and while it's all right, it's no better than some of the far-cheaper, drugstore brands I've tried, and it's not as good as some. I find Maybelline's Lash Stiletto does a better job, for instance, at about 1/4 of the cost, on sale.

I do like the brush, but that alone doesn't make this mascara worth $30, IMO.

Oh, I wish everyone could have the same experience. I continue to be amazed!

Make sure you do the extra step of turning the brush vertical and stroking the lashes with the tip of the brush after stroking it on in the usual way... I don't know *how* that does anything, but I can watch each lash get longer when I do that step! (just using the brush horizontally on my lashes gives me no special effect, except maybe the curling.

Guess everyone's lashes respond to different stuff though. I threw away a whole tube of Stiletto, it was beyond disappointing to me. L'Oreal's Double Extend was my go-to mascara before this.

Yeah- the Stilleto didn't do it for me either- I used it for a while-but I did a whole rated review on it- and I think it was like a 6/10 or 7/10 on my satisfaction scale.

I like the falsies by mabelline better.

I also tossed Stiletto in disappointment and have a tube of Double Extend instead. Now I'm saving up my pennies for the Benefit!
