Costless costumes - question
Hi!
I'm the proud owner of a mirrored Costless costume, now (bra and belt).
But as I bought it second hand, I don't know, if it is a gold one or a brass one. The former owner doesn't know this, either and on the Costless costumes homepage, I can't really see much of a difference.
So, could you please post pics of your Costless mirrored costumes here that I can find out what I have?!
And another question: The belt is a bit too small for me. Is there a possibility to buy more of those big single medaillons to extend it? The homepage of Costless costumes seems not to be very update...
Thank you very much in advance, Sahira.Don't dream your live, life your dream!

Re: Costless costumes - question
You could mount it on a base and just not use the big medallions for the extensions... maybe use some extra parts you have, or some nice self-beaded appliques to make it more unique.
I have never had a costless set, but I would think that if it were brass, the metal would be slightly darker and tarnished by now and not bright... unless it was painted and the paint job somehow lasted this long. Just something I thought of that might help you identify it. I have one of those ancient reflections mirrored coin costless knock offs. The mirrored medallions that haven't really been used are still bright like gold or new brass, but the rest of the belt is darker and tarnished looking. This is what I'd expect as well if your set was brass.http://www.etsy.com/shop/LesediDancer Enter coupon code "BHUZLOVE" at checkout and get a 15% discount.

Re: Costless costumes - question
If there isn't any obvious tarnish, my guess is that it isn't brass, too. A jeweler might be able to tell you if it is brass with a protective coating or gold electroplating, though.
I thought someone said they had effectively shuttered their business. Maybe you could put in an ISO request to see if anyone has any extra pieces or a set that is damaged you could cannibalize? Otherwise, you might be looking at finding some other old jewelry pieces and modifying the design. And another question: The belt is a bit too small for me. Is there a possibility to buy more of those big single medaillons to extend it? The homepage of Costless costumes seems not to be very update...
