My first real costume! :D Padding quesion?

So I just got my first "real" cosume...meaning a cabaret-style costume from Egypt, not a hand-sewn hodge-podge or training clothes/hip scarf. To be honest I'm probably one of those girls who would fall in love with no matter WHAT costume she put on...but, I tried it on, and I knew I had to say goodbye to my money. The pictures don't do it justice, it's gorgeous! So excited for next dance show!

Now my question is, how should I pad it? Note: I am not the girl in the picture. I wish I had that cleavage. But I don't.

The bra part sits really well and doesn't feel like it will wiggle around, which is good, so I'm not as worried about movement as I was. But still, I'm a bit uncertain about how to make sure everything stays as it should. I know I can sew the padding in to tack it down in place, but then I'm woried about my actual boobs moving. I've had Victoria's Secret bombshell bras before, and even though that padding stays in place, eventually something would move around and the girls wouldn't be sitting where they should anymore. So with shimmying and all that I thought it might be even more of a concern. Does anyone have any advice? Also, on what type of padding/what brand is good to use?

    Thank you! :D

Put the padding toward the bottom and sides of each cup. If you get a tiny bit of jiggle, that's okay. You just don't want to have any nip slip or underboobage, so if the bra band is tight enough (you can't insert two fingers under the band), the straps are not too long (you want the midline of the bra cups to be in line with your biceps, approximately), and you double check and reinforce all the hooks and clasps, you should be good to go.

You can buy the pads at a fabric store.

    its lovely...congratulations

try folded up socks- or paper towels to experiment with before spending money on actual pads (shoulder pads work in a pinch as well)... then you can do what qI like.... the jumping jack routine- usually with my boyfriend present ( extra set of eyes is helpful- and he enjoys the show lmao). if it stays put through that- and some really aggressive shoulder shimmy's (and I do mean more of a stripper boobie shake than nice back driven BD style ones) then usually are good to go

usually I can personally just tell if I fit or not but- I always test it out- its a good cheap insurance policy :)

    Lovely costume
I have experimented with a few different padding options as I am always falling in love with cossies that are too big for me.

I find the big round bought bra pads do not work for me. The padding that works the best for me is a home made job.
I cut the feet of pantyhose and stuff them with poly fill (the stuff they put in pillows). I then close it up so it is like a rounded sausage shape. I put the rounded bit a bit near the under arm and the rest at the bottom. lastly I use some more pantyhose (in the pic I had a couple of small bra pads left over so I used them) to make a smaller sausage to go at the top of the cup. The reason for this is that if I just pad underneath then I get awful gape whenever I lean forward (not good, audience gets an eyeful) so adding just this little bit kind of fills in that gap.

Because I use poly fill it is pretty soft and squishes to shape so there are no gaps. I can also adjust the amount of fill to suit each side.

Here's a pic of one of my massively padded bras!

I usually then line it all so it is all hidden, never got around to linning this one.
