Long-lasting foundation with light coverage for everyday wear

Hi All, I have been on a fruitless search for a medium to light foundation that LASTS. I need something for everyday wear (not stage make-up) that comes in pale shades. Some of the stuff I have been using either doesn't last or gets too slick on my face after several hours and sort of looks gross.

I went to the MAC counter and was ignored by the workers there for about 10 minutes, so I didn't stick around to ask them what they had that fit that bill. I also have access to a Sephora and Ulta. And as an FYI, I buy most of my make-up from drug stores, but I am willing to splurge on something if it is worth it.

    Thanks!

I bought Makeup Forever's High Definition Foundation, originally to use for stage and photography, but I discovered that it is very light and exactly what I want for everyday also -- I just use a bit less.

I got the shade #110, which was the lightest one in the sephora store, but online I see there is also a #107 which is lighter. I am an extremely pale redhead and stay out of the sun obsessively.

I got the primer too, but honestly I like Sephora's house brand primer better.

Another foundation I like is Illuminaire. The lightest color is actually to light for me (first *ever*)

In a liquid I have yet to find anything better than Revlon PhotoReady. I wear Nude, which is light and warm, but I think there's a fairer shade or three.

For stage I've been giving it an extra set with either MAC SkinFinish (pressed) or Sonia Kashuk (loose) powder. Works well.

Thanks Ladies! Suz, I bought the Revlon PhotoReady Compact Make-up with the "liquifying screen" and I liked product, but I find it too thick. I've been mixing it with my tinted moisturizer for a lighter finish, but that is a pain in the butt when I am chronically running late in the mornings. I also had to yank out the screen and use a foundation brush for it...so yeah, less than pefect product. I'll try the liquid foundation.

Hi. I am in love with the Chanel perfection lumiere, it's expensive but I love how it feels and looks. It comes in a lot of shades too. I have dry, sensitive skin .Hope that helps.there is nothing like a rocking foundation.

I cannot say enough good things about Alima Pure. Yes, it's mineral makeup, which not everyone likes, and you have to order it online, but their sample program and CS are awesome, they have a zillion shades, and in addition to beautiful controllable coverage, it's just about the only foundation that doesn't set off my rosacea. And it lasts all day.
