Thread: Powermesh Suit Patterns?

Being of very limited means, I looked on Ebay and found a seller of powermesh by the metre.
I plan to buy some and make my own body stocking, but wondered if anyone knows of any patterns please? It would have to be downloadable, given my location, I think.
Failing that, I think a carefully measured tube of the mesh, with poppers for the crotch opening and clear straps from the underbust across the shoulders might do the trick.

The ones I have aren't tubes. They are like brief underwear with a really high waist. They are made of two pieces of mesh, like this:

If you have to have a pattern, your best bet might be an underwear pattern.

This is how I put together a bodystocking:

I use a sleeveless leotard pattern and cut the neck line really low so it fits under the bust. My costumes usually cover the straps, but clear straps would work I am sure.

I have made them using a leotard pattern, but you need to elongate the leg as beafarhana shows in her picture.

Would it work to sew a tube onto a pair of bikini briefs? I also use the clear straps, but sometimes use hooks sewn into the bra to keep the stocking up. I like the stockings with built-in straps best.

umm, yes I guess you would if you wear your skirt and belt low, I generally have a more covered look and so don't elongate the legs. or I pin it to the skirt to keep the gap from showing.

We've sewn a shaped tube onto a pair of cotton bikini briefs - works for us. I say shaped because I've found that if I don't shape it slightly at the waist then it doesn't fit nicely at the back - sort of sits out if you get my drift.
