    color tattoo by eye studio

Hey ladies.... I saw this new cream 24 hr eye shadow at cvs last week. Its called color tattoo and its a subcontract of maybelline. I resisted the urge to purchase but last night i left the gym feeling naseaous so i hit up cvs for ginger ale... And in my weakened state my "dont spend money on make up" resolve was broken and I bought the "bad to the bronze" color.

It comes in a few shades- notably white and teal and an orange being the most unusual.. but there is a blush colour one, a taupe one, gold, purple and a charcoal- all of which looked very lovely and I had a hard time comitting to just one. Money is super tight in the winter for me so almost 8$ on eyeshadow is stretching it so I couldnt take more than one. I wanted one I would use on a regular basis and get my moneys worth. So i got the bronze. I dont know how the other colors compare but the bronze is a little more muted but still lovely and I think will pair nicely with other colors and stand alone as a nice day wearing shadow.

I, of course, immediately applied when i got home. Reveled in the new product and then promptly took a shower/bath. It isnt marketed as water proof per say and I didnt scrub my face but it didnt come off under regualr shower water or in the tub... So it seems that it will hold up well under sweaty conditions.

I like it. The texture is nice and it isnt so heavy it looks like I have some goofy highlight cream or something- i used it today and paires it with a gray/black eyeliner and am really happy with it thus far. I disnt use my primer but have not noted creasing.

I thought you guys might like it or look into it... So there you have it.

And I apologize if this is epically bad with spelling... I am on my phone which doesnf like bhuz and as well its below 30 so my little figers are a touch numb!

I will try to pick up the white or blush or teal next... Maybe wallyworld or target will have them for a little less!

Not the best picture and i am sure its effing huge... But the eyeshadow and some blended on the back of my hand

Yeah the bronze on the back of my hand i rubbed quiet a bit bc i didnt want the guys giving me grief about.it... But what wouldnt come off with some rubbing is definitly still visible. i would have liked a sample available but alas they had none. i really like the teal colour but it isnt the most flatterig for my eyes so i get them and never use them (sans special occasions). but i still would like to try more colours!

Thumbs up Re: color tattoo by eye studio

Interesting! I've never tried a cream eye shadow before. Looks like this might be a good one to try.

I have only had one or two and never really liked them... Typically they have felt to heavy and thick so this was a nice change i think i will be using it regularly!

I've been using cream eyeshadows a lot lately (Revlon Illuminance palettes over MAC Pot 'Painterly', or a cheapie E.L.F. primer, or over just foundation and powder) since in winter it lasts better, but mostly because it's fast to swipe it on at the ungodly hour of 5:30 a.m. I might try these, especially that teal. I am trying to come up with my "eye of Horus" look for an upcoming gig, and if it's light enough that would work with other costume colors I'm going with.

That bronze looks more like light silvery taupe, but maybe it's my computer monitor. It doesn't look dark enough to do more than fade into my skin tone. Is it really that light?

the bronze is more muted than I thought- which sort of worked for me. I didn't buy it with the full intent of dance make up (although most make up pulls double duty for me)... I bought specifically the more toned down one so I could wear it day to day and not be gawked at but still perk myself up (construction can be depressing)- lol I really wanted the gold and teal- and burgendy/blush colour- and the white- but I just couldn't afford it and I didn't see a point since I just picked up a new gold and two in the blush family and I rarely rarely use teal LOL

It has a little gloss and its catching the light through the window so its a little darker than shown- but its not super dark no. I think all the other colors except the taupe are going to have a bit more punch to them

Also- there is no primer- I think with a primer it would have a nice pizzaz. I'm constantly surrounded at this point by yellow light- so in combination with cell phone photography- it makes for bad "here's my new make up" pictures.

I think for stage make up- it would be a nice addition but this particular colour won't stand up on its own really- unless you are super pale- I rate myself a 4 on a 1 to tannest scale. It would be good for day to day- well light resturants and something as a base or blender for a deeper more rich bronze.

I think my favorite thing about this is that I can swipe it one without looking ridiculous- its light- almost mousse like. doesn't feel as thick and heavy as other's. Let me know if you pick up the teal or any other colour- I'd love to see what other people think of it and how they use it!
