Capezio Foot Undeez sizing - any feedback?

I want to try the Capezio Foot Undeez but I'm hesitant to order because I'm nervous about size. According to their sizing, as a person who wears an 8-1/2 regular width woman's shoe, I'm a "medium." But some customer reviewers say these "run true to size" while others say they "really run small," and others complain that theirs fit too loosely!

Can anyone share their experience with Foot Undeez and sizing? I'd especially love to hear from anyone who also wears an 8-1/2 shoe.

    Thank all!

Re: Capezio Foot Undeez sizing - any feedback?

    Hi Rosette,

I can't remember exactly the sizing, though I think the girls I was working with found them snug.

However, unless Capezio has changed something, the quality of the Foot Undeez wasn't great. I had a classfull of students who bought them a couple of months before a recital, and by the recital all but one pair had come apart at one seam or another. I was repairing their shoes on top of scrambling together costumes.

In contrast, I had been using a pair of Bloch Foot Thong IIIs prior to the time the girls got their Undeez, and mine lasted well beyond theirs (like, over a year of teaching/dancing, including practice on tile and carpeted floor). Unless you're really committed to the Undeeze style/colour, I'd look at other half-sole shoe options.

I bought my Bloch FT IIIs (at the time, on sale for under $10, though I think regular price at other shops might be closer to $25 US) from Discount Dance Supply. Just checked, the same shoe is still available at Discount Dance Supply for $15 Canadian. Doesn't look like they carry FT IIs anymore... just a slightly different shape.

Sorry for the product pushy -- I was just really dissatisfied with the Undeez

I was just thinking I should have also asked about other similar products!

Thanks a bunch for the input,

If it helps, I can back both the DancePaws, and the Bloch Soleil Foot Gloves. I hate the way the Foot Undeez work their way down (up?) my foot - I need something between my smaller toes to keep the sole in place, and Foot Undeez just don't do it.

I actually prefer the foot undeez because they don't have anything between the toes apart from the big toe - I hate that feeling!

I'm a size 9.5 australian... I think that's a 9 US, and I bought the Large because I have a wide foot, but I'm thinking I might need to go down to the medium as the large doesn't quite fit as firmly as I'd like. If I were you I'd go for the Medium.

That's funny! I actually have never worn and likely will never wear flip-flops, partly because the thing between the first two toes skeeves me out... but I love the Bloch FTs. They're tricky to get into, but then they're easy to forget.

Tighter is generally better with this sort of shoe. You don't want it slipping around.

    Thank you, Ladies!

There's also something out there with a similar look to Foot Undeez, called Danshuz. Anybody tried those?

Re: Capezio Foot Undeez sizing - any feedback?

I bought 4 pair of those on Ebay , and I recommended them to my troupe, who all ordered them. I have been wearing the foot undeez (we call them boyshorts ;-)for awhile, but I was looking for a more affordable alternative.
I love those, they don't seem to wear out so fast as the undeez and stay in place. Your foot is more sweaty when you take the shoe off, but you don't feel it while wearing them. I feel more ball protection with the Danshuz, then the undeez as they stretch out around ball area first on my foot.
So far I am really happy with them. They also come in various colors and are easy to decorate due to the thicker material and are affordable.
I wear a size 7.5 and order M. My friend wears it think 10 or 11 and order L and they fit her well.
    Hope this helps. :-)

So I think I will try the Blochs, or the Danshuz . . . or both.

Tight is painful! I've got the Bloch foot gloves, and the elastic is very tight on my wide feet, and I end up with foot cramp after 20 or 30 minutes.

wait... you call things the little dance pads for your feet--- underwear?

i'm really confused how you got there with that one LOL

I have never used any type of dance shoe or paw thing- I'd be interested to hear more about them- my feet crack unpleasantly occasional- usually when I have danced for two weeks or two then I get back at it hard and I tear my feet on the floor whilst turning- its not cool at all. might see if these help

and you never know about that whole seperate toe thing- I love toe socks- but the split toes always ended up bothering my feet- now I wear vibrum five fingers (the toe shoes) and I LURV them to death. do all my workouts in them and hiking and walking and just about anything. They are awesome- they don't bother my toes at all- so you never every know with that kind of thing!

Well..... one of our troupies siad that one day, because they undeez look like, well boy underwear
I never have a problem with the between the toe, but I also wear flip flops..... I recommend any kind of dace shoes to protect your feet and not get stuck on the floor and twist the knees.

ooohhh i see it now... if you look at them straight down.

they do look like briefs lol

when i hear boyshorts- I think of women's underwear that resemble little cute shorts that compliment the ahem... booty- which is why i was confused

Re: Capezio Foot Undeez sizing - any feedback?

I wear DancePaws. I've never tried the FootUndeez precisely because they resemble men's underwear & I just don't think it's a very attractive look. I see the Danshuz are without the seaming that makes the Undeez look like, well undies. So I may try those, since it is a little bit of a hassle trying to thread each individual toe into the DancePaws.

ETA: On their website I can view the Danshuz & see sizing info, etc., but I don't see any info on pricing or any button for ordering. Do you have to order by phone only??

I bought them on Ebay, here is one of the sellers. I don't remember which one I bought before.

I wear either an 8 1/2 or 9 (US). I have the Foot Undies and I do not like them. They move around and they cut into my little toe. I highly recommend the Foot Glove as an alternative. They feel like the same soft mesh material as a bellycover/bodystocking. I was afraid they would feel funny between all the toes but they don't, they are very comfy. I <3 them. I have the henna design ones. :-)

I believe, when I ordered my Foot undeez, that I got the size they recommended. They are a little at the widest part of my foot, but nothing too terrible. I got the full bottom one because I stick an insert into them when I'm having a bad foot day (I have plantar fasciitis and sometimes the inserts really help). So far, my overall experience has been pretty good. I haven't tried the other kinds so I can't give a fully informed decision.

Had mixed results with Foot Undeez and Dance Paws. The "right size" works its way off, and a size smaller is too snug. After experimenting, I bought these:

Unisex Half Sole Sandal - Style #H03 at Discount Dance Supply

They stretch a little, so start tight. The lightest shade is almost invisible on me (fair to medium skin/blonde) and so far have been quite durable.

Re: Capezio Foot Undeez sizing - any feedback?

I have a pair of Bloch FT III in large, the ones with a strap between each toe. My shoesize is usually 38 in street shoes (European size, think it corresponds to UK: 5 and US: 7.5, or something like that) but I have pretty wide feet. A medium might have worked if my feet and toes were slimmer.

I looked at the Capezio ones too, but they had more of a cushion underneath while the Bloch were flat, which I prefer. The Bloch ones are comfortable enough to dance in, and great when turning, but I'm not a big fan of the straps between the toes because my toes sometimes tend to get a bit mashed up in them. I'm thinking of cutting some of the straps.
