Thread: Getting my first custom costume!

I can't keep it in anymore, I am too excited! I just ordered my first professionally made beaded costume! I was holding out hope for a long time that I would be able to make my own, but I finally had to face the truth, which is I just don't enjoy sewing enough to get good at it. It's kind of a blow to my artistic ego to not naturally excel at that kind of thing, but too bad. I don't have the time or patience to hone a new craft right now when I'm just starting to become busy with doing all the other ones I've already spent a lifetime refining. So I figured the next best thing to making one myself was to find a designer I really liked. I have been watching Raya's fairy tale costume thread for the past year, and have been really moved by some of her designs. They are very fresh and unique, but at the same time they hold on to that archetypal fantasy image that brought me to BD in the first place. She also seemed like she would be easy to work with, and she most certainly is. We've gotten the initial exchanges over with and she will start very soon. I am sooo excited!
