Re: semi circle silk veils
Hi there,
I have two, they are Habotai Silk Belly Dance half-circle veils hand dyed by Sahariah. They are made from 8mm quality Habotai silk and are 45 x 108 inches. I have used only one of them and only once for a short intro.
COLORS: Gold blends into green, teal, slight purple, teal, green and ends in gold borders.
I can take and send you some pictures if you wish.
The price would be $80.- for both incl. priority shipping. Paypal accepted.
My PMs do not work, please post your intent here or e-mail me at mahreen@email.cz .

I haven't seen Marta for almost a year now but I have only heard good things, in person, from customers of hers.

Re: semi circle silk veils
I have done some of Dharma's little half circles, but I can't stock them as few folks in my neck of the woods want to buy them. If somebody local is offering a double veil class, I might get a big order, though, and suddenly have to make eight or ten pairs in a short period of time -- that gets exciting!

Re: semi circle silk veils
A good friend of mine dyes silks and she does lovely 1/2 circles, although she doesn't always have them in stock. I'm one of her sales ladies at the MN Renaissance Festival and I have quite a few of her veils, including 2 double veil sets. We're working on getting her up on Etsy, but for now, she's on Facebook:

and she also has a website:
Basinah's Bedouin Bazaar
She sells under the names "Basinah's Bedouin Bazaar" (just her silks) and "Ladies of the Lake" (her joint venture with a dichrioc glass vendor- they have stores at MN Renaissance Festival, Siouxland Renaissance Festival, and Chippewa Valley Renaissance Festival, as well as vending at other events around the Midwest.

Re: semi circle silk veils
I'm kind of tired of explaining to people that they aren't actually half circles because they aren't 55" wide. But if I don't say anything, I invariably get some semi-outraged remark about it. A lot of the time I just call them "curved veils."

Re: semi circle silk veils
Yea I went to great lengths to describe the various sizes on an older version of my site and there's still confusion. They are neat for what they are but I still prefer the biggies ..
oh yes the roller coaster..unfortunately I get a lot of requests wanting stuff "next week" while I'd love to do it , it's not possible..I don't really 'stock' art ..certain seasonal colors can be anticipated but I don't ever have the luxury ofa fully stocked store 24/7 it sells too quick
wholesale orders take up a LOT of time and as you know don't pay very well especially when a reseller is requesting certain colors. esp. with the nursing job it seems to work well that I di will dye up what I feel like making and then offer that out.
custom is a pain too, sometimes a long conversation will ensue then ya hear nothing back..which is fine..but it's hard to fill a time slot with a maybe :)
