Re: too many bra cutouts!
Princess Banu would wear it.

It kinda looks like it might be lined, the color of the cut outs seems very matte & non-sheer.
If my boobs were 10 years younger and 3 sizes smaller I would wear it. Maybe. I think a person would have to have really great boobs though. Like fine art boobs.

Re: too many bra cutouts!
I will probably be flamed for this but --- I certainly would not wear it nor would I enjoy watching anyone perform wearing that style costume. IMO that style costume might lead to the GP comparing Middle Eastern Dancers to strippers, something we have fought for years to avoid. (Nothing against strippers, each group has their skill-set but my mind flashes back to the Eastern Onion bellydance strip-o-grams.) I also do not care for the clear plastic straps, the illusion can confuse the GP. The new, cutting-edge costumes certainly offers adventuresome dancers options for new looks. But I have found it can lead to mixed messages.

Re: too many bra cutouts!
I tried some of these styles last Dec. at the BD store. They are like samba tops. Some have a medium tone flesh material. Some don't. Let's just say that the beading is good quality but the revealing nature is *very* venue dependent. Filled with an opaque, colored material, the bras could be wearable in restaurants.

Arielle gone wild?!!!

So love Sim Moda - but that bra I could not do. Too much skin (and I am an adventurous sort)!
This is my fave bra in the Bella section, cut out, sexy, yet covers a bit more.

Re: too many bra cutouts!
I love Sims but I think that bra is hideous too. For my own taste as a dancer and viewer of the dance, I don't care for bras with cutouts on the cups. I don't mind the bra band or straps being scant, but I don't like cutouts on the cups. As a dancer I don't want anyone watching me wondering if the cups are lined or if they are going to get flashed. As an audience member, I don't want to wonder the same. That's just my own taste.
My biggest beef with the new costumes just posted on their web site is the size. Almost all of them have super tiny hips. I think I'm relatively petite at a 34.5" upper hip, but these costumes are super tiny. I'm hoping they'll post some more as they unpack with larger hip sizes.

Re: too many bra cutouts!
I wouldn't be comfortable in a bra with cutouts like that. In a second, more obvious color, I could deal with some of the styles (like the Jillina slash), but not the all-roads-lead-to-rhinestone-nipple thing. Speaking of costumes that would have been fine otherwise... Why, left cup? Why can't you be more like your sister?

At the more modest end of the spectrum, am I the only person who looked at this red velvet Sim and thought, "$195? Is that a $95 student costume with $100 of sequin lattice work up the leg?" Maybe if all of those wan, sparse dangles were grouped at the belt, but as is, I almost think it would look like a more expensive costume without them.

Re: too many bra cutouts!
In all seriousness, this costume is fantastic if somebody wants to recreate the Princess Banu look. Yeah, not a good choice for a restaurant gig in a family restaurant, but, e.g., for a staged show that is dedicated to legendary dancers, this would be awesome. Now, of course one would need the headdress, and more importantly, the body and attitude to wear that costume properly, and not be worn by it.

Another potential for flaming here but - some of these costumes might be appropriate for coffee-table dances.

Re: too many bra cutouts!
I think the main problem with that Sim is that the cups look so flat combined with the cut outs. No one's boobs are going to look good in there!

Re: too many bra cutouts!
I'm not a fan of bra with cutouts (except for brazilian samba costumes, in that case anything goes
).
But I have an other concern about this kind of bra, asuming the lining is a nude see-through fabric, or even worst, no lining at all...
what if you don't have a nice well shaped breast (as the young model in the pic), what if you nipples are not "exactly" centered, meaning right under the sequined applique of the cup? What if they are a bit lower, higher, or lurking on the side, etc.
Lets face it, all puppies are different
Who would like to have a nipple peek-a-booing through the cutout?

Re: too many bra cutouts!
Not a fan, period. If you're going to wear the above costume, why not make it easy on yourself and go out in a set of sparkly pasties?
I'm not a prude by any stretch; hell, I have a Bella with a small cutout along the edge of the bra. But I feel there are appropriate cutouts and inappropriate cutouts, and a bra that has more cutouts than bra (whether actual-- netting-- or implied-- nude fabric) is really not helping sell our audiences on the idea of bellydance being family friendly entertainment.
Personally, I find them as offensive as I do burlesque/bellydance crossovers. Sorry, I'm sure that won't win me friendships with a few of the ladies around here, but it's just how I feel.

Re: too many bra cutouts!
I've seen way too many nipples peaking out through cut outs in my time (among other things). Why would a dancer want to wear a costume item that detracts from her/his dancing? When I watch a dancer only to be fixated on a questionable costume item (or lack of), I'm not really watching their dance. Nothing can ruin a performance quicker than a costuming malfunction from a poorly selected item/costume.

I personally do not like that bra. I do like some cut out, but that is too much IMO. plus it looks like a real breast to me. LOL with a nipple crystal! LOL
