Question for Pharaonics Tempest owners
So I have a black Tempest that I love, but I am having an issue with the skirt. The medallion and skirt piece that attaches to the front is so heavy that it drags down the front of my skirt!
I can't figure out a way to attach it so that it doesn't drag down or look sloppy. It came to me as a separate piece - do you sew it to the costume directly? How do you attach it?

Re: Question for Pharaonics Tempest owners
The front applique/medallion and skirt bit are sewn directly to one side of the belt. I experienced the same thing, but found it looked really neat if I took the ends of that front skirt bit and tucked each side up into the holes of the belt. The drapes looked really neat this way and helped with some of the bulk. Before that, I was thinking about cutting the front skirt section in half and reattaching just half of it to cut down on bulk. The tuck worked really well though so I left it alone.

Glad I am not the only one! The tuck sounds awesome - do you have a photo?

Re: Question for Pharaonics Tempest owners
I had similar problems with my tempest.
I sewed in lots of elastics, moved the straps that come from the back, tightened them and sewed a corner of the medallion to the strap on one side and a hook and eye to the other side, so that the upper straps of the belt helped me keeping the medallion and front panel up.Last edited by sha-ri; 02-06-2012 at 02:47 PM.

Re: Question for Pharaonics Tempest owners
Well darn, I don't have any pictures that show the tuck. It's simple though. Just grab the right side of the front panel either at the very end or a few feet up from the end (I preferred the later) and tuck it a little bit into the lowest right hole in your belt. You can play with positioning to see what works best for you. Repeat on the left side. It gives a really pretty drapey look and you can make it poof at the tuck, or just have it lay flat. It usually stayed in place for me without reinforcement, but you may want to pin the tucks to be sure.

Re: Question for Pharaonics Tempest owners
I added elastic like Sha-ri did, but I also sewed snaps on the top of the applique that attach to the top straps. That keeps the applique from pulling forward.
ooooohhh I like the skirt tuck idea. I'll have to try it.
