Thread: Amazing source for custom fringe

Last Thursday evening, I emailed an e-bay seller to inquire about custom fringe (I wanted gold fringe with orange tips).

He responded immediately, got my specs, and had my custom item listed by Friday morning. My fringe was delivered on Tuesday!

It's shiny, seems durable. It's not the thickest fringe I've ever seen, but it's not sparse either.

He even threw in a little bag of extra beads in each color for me!

I got 50" of 4" long fringe plus a 6" long piece of 9" fringe (which I'll double for use as a bra drape) for $43.99 ($30 for the fringe, $13.99 for the rush shipping from Cairo).

I am SOOOO impressed, and the new fringe is REALLY giving my costume a spiffy facelift (the old fringe was dull gold, almost brown Ugh).

Thx for sharing. I doubt I am alone when I say I would love to see pix of your new fringe. Is the fringe smooth
cut or rough cut? Sounds lovely.

If someone would explain the difference between 'smooth cut' and 'rough cut' fringe I'd be happy to say which it is.

I almost forgot... I ordered some from them. I ended up selling to a student of mine, because she needed it more urgently than I, but I remember it was pretty nice. A few beads that were cut funny, so they made the string have a kink in it, but certainly not anything noticeable without close inspection.

I had the same happy experience with a custom order a couple months ago. Great communication and fast!

Sorry, I lost track of the thread. Re rough-cut or smooth - if you use your finger to trace the length of a few strands of fringe is there any irregularity in the beads or is the entire length smooth and even? Or, if you swipe a cotton ball across the fringe do you end-up with wisps of cotton on some of the beads? We have found the rough-cut beads will often shred the thread used for stringing the beads and also snag skirts, pants, veils, cover-ups, etc.

Hmmm.. well, it doesn't feel perfectly smooth, I can feel where the beads bump into each other. But I'm trying to remember if I've ever seen fringe that was smoother... I checked it against a Bella I had handy and they feel about the same... sorry, I'm not much help on this point.

My fringes colors are a bronze/gold combo and they are very sparkly! The shipping was done by Feddex and it took less than a week.

As I posted quite a while ago, I had ordered fringe from this seller and was happy. I purchased 3 pieces that are 40" wide and 3 or 4" long (I would have to check) in silver, they came with a bag of extra beads. I have realized that I will not have a use for them. I was going to make a 3 tiered fringe belt. If anyone is interested in these, let me know. Private message or email at surida_bd at yahoo.
