More PICS: Show us your FASTEST costume!

I'm curious to see what people have done. I'll post my pics as soon as I get my little shop set up...

I lost my luggage in Eugene, OR and I was scheduled to perform with the lovely Razia and Amani C. My costumes were in that suitcase. (NOTE TO SELF: hand carry all costumes!).

I ran to the nearest JoAnn Fabrics (where I normally don't buy my costuming supplies but heck I needed a costume!!!), and Target for the bra and jewels, and fabricated a complete costume in 4 hours.

Thankfully, my luggage showed up and it turned out the show needed an extra number so I had an extra costume to wear! I call it my 4-hour costume. PROMISE, I'll post pics as soon as I'm situated...

    Let's see what ya got!!! ,r:;

That is definitely impressive! I can't wait to see it...

I thought I would have a "fast" costume by sewing some embroidered georgette onto a bra... either I'm too impatient or not a fast worker, but it's been days and still not done!

Hey, I'm from Eugene and I know Razia very well and I know Amani C. also. I would have attended your show but my band was engaged elsewhere that evening. Sorry to have missed the chance to meet you and to see you dance and also to have seen the 4-hour costume!

I thought you were going to borrow costumes from Elena? Oh well, good thing your luggage showed up.

I don't think I'm a fast enough or clever enough worker to do a costume in 4 hours that would be stage worthy. Though I have seen some interesting fabrics at Joanne's Fabrics recently. Do post pics!

Black yoga pants, black sweater and a purple hip scarf. They changed my time slot on me without telling me. I arrived in pleanty of time for the orginal time slot, and the MC siad, can you go on now? What's a girl to do?

But I was dancing to Tarkin and Hakim, so it worked.

I nearly didn't get my costume for Rakkasah... Because I left it with a dancer in the Sacramento area who was supposed to mail it to me. But then she just decided to bring it herself since she was going to Rak as well.
Unfortunately she didn't tell me this so I was rather worried ,f::

I didn't want to buy a full new costume (didn't have enough money anyway) so I got a glittery top and hip scarf from LRose, just in case.
Fortunately, my costumes box arrived on Saturday. Man, was I relieved!

Another costume didn't make it in time to Honolulu (I never have my costumes with me when I fly to the USA, so they can't suspect me of working there!).
So I had to borrow something from Willow. Now, she's tiny... But she had a blue evening gown that fit, so that's what I wore!

I haven't done four hours, but maybe a couple of days.

An easier way will be an excellent idea, especially if you need it in that quick of a hurry...

I just think this is funnie....because I can't even come up with an idea in 4 hours! haha....i start projects and they sit in a box until the right idea comes to mind.
    I'm interested in seeing pictures.
my fastest costume was glitter dot w/mardi gra fringe.....and its still not done
well its done, but I did want to add more accented rhinestones.

I'll play Most of the costumes I have made have taken far, far too many hours to count - however, this bra/belt set took about 5 hours including dismantling multiple metal belts and chest pieces for parts, creating the bra and belt base, and converting a choli top and sharifwear top into a single underbust top.

    I call it... "Party" ;op

Top took the longest b'c I had to cover the cups with lamé and then do the chiffon overlay. The rest was cut, stitch, and knot!

I will tweak it; permanently attach the center pieces, enhance the dots with rhinestones, add elastic to the skirt, maybe add random fringe strands if it doesn't look tacky (it's already pretty clown-like!) to add more movement.

The "Party" costume is cute on you. Hardly needs any tweaking, I would think.

So, the drape on the bra.. I see where it is attached in the back and I see how it drapes across the front, but where is the other end attached? Just curious, it looks great.

Me LOOOOVES raspberry shades! Thank you so much. Not a lot to it, very Soraya Zayed inspired.

It's hard to see; the 2 chiffon pieces are just knotted at my shoulder. Then I cut it up into the "pom pom" to hide the knot.

Andrea, who is on here sometimes, came from the Bay Area to Sacramento to dance and forgot her costume bra. Poor thing...she was such a good sport. Backstage, we quickly wrapped her veil around her regular bra and pinned it. It pretty much looked like she had a veil wrap on the whole time.

Amity, is that the same set you wore for the coat-rack performance in Bangor?
