    long yoga pants? Lauren, maybe?

I thought I remembered a thread on where to find long yoga pants. But I can't find it now. Does anybody know where to find good yoga pants for a taller, bigger dancer? I am 5'9" and big in the thighs.

I need a whole bunch for the srping becasue I will be taking many dance classes, and need something I can also get away with schlepping around outside the studio as well.

    thank you!

The Phoenix Rising straight-leg pants have 34-inch inseams in size XL. I'm your height, and they work for me.

L Rose will, of course, make their jazz pants to any length you like.

I recently bought two pairs of Nike pants that are long enough to be adequate.

victoria secret yoga pants are quite long and very stretchy, I think they also run large.

I bought a cozy pair of Victoria's Secret yoga pants because the web site said they had 34-inch inseams. They fit me great. And then, when I washed them in cold water and threw them in the dryer at its coolest temperature, they shrunk vertically and came only as far as mid-shin. I was really disgusted. I'll never buy pants from them again.

I'll also never again order anything from the Victoria's Secret web site because you have to provide an email address to complete the transaction. They spammed me with 2-3 messages per day throughout December. I had created a special email address on my web domain just for that transaction (I usually do that), and I had to change its auto-forward from my main mailbox to the mailbox I route my "dead" spam-filled addresses to. If I ever order anything at all from them again, it'll be by telephone.

Shira, that's irritating about Victoria's Secret! Shrinkage drive me crazy,, especially on something that fit well beforehand.

I need to buy a stack of pants, like six or 8 pairs to start. (because I have twice-daily dance class in the spring semester) So I want to get decent quality, and something that can stand up to being washed. . .

I wonder if eBay is still flooded with Brazilian workout gear. It's flashy, but at least the legs are usually long enough.

I love the victoria's secret yoga pants and I have not had any problems with shrinkage with normal washing and drying.
I think they come in 3 different inseam lengths. I use them a lot and I've found that they hold up really well and don't stretch out and get loose. I get the foldover waist style.

Shira, I would request a refund or exchange for those pants. That is definitely not normal!

For cheapies, I have pretty good luck at Old Navy, of all places. (and I'm also 5'9)

I also do REALLY well shopping for yoga pants at Marshall's (are those nationwide or just local?). I rarely bother anywhere else, actually, they have all the top brands for great prices.

My very VERY favorite yoga pants have been discontinued and can't be found anywhere... I can't really talk about it... *sniffle* ...still mourning....

I've had the same shrinkage issue with VS yoga pants. I solved it by not putting them in the dryer anymore. I'd buy them again just because VS sometimes has a 2-fer sale, and now that you can get them with a longer inseam, I'd expect the shrinkage to not be such a problem.

But I'll have to give Marshall's a try.

huh, I had a pair of the the VS pants that were just too long for me and nothing I did shrunk them.

Ozoneblue I think is the seller's name on ebay, still has yoga pants.

BTW, a warning: I LOVE Marika workout clothes, but I find most of their yoga pants too short after a washing or two.

I stick to tanks & capris from them.

My girlfriend is 5'9" and she said that target now has different length workout pants. She always has trouble with pants being too short and was thrilled when she saw them.

All of my American Appearal roll down yoga pants run long. And I have found a vendor on E-bay who sells then very cheap. The vendor does screen printing and then sells any unused pieces on e-bay. 2 pair just cost me a little over $30 including shipping. Much better than the store on Robertson!

Whoa, thank you for this! Just ordered 2 pairs. I wanted XL but the inseam is too long for me--hopefully the Ls will fit. If not, I'll resell 'em in the Swap Meet.

VS is having its sale now. The "classic yoga pants" are now just "yoga pants" and run 2 for $50 (up from 2 for $40), but they're still my favorite workhorse classwear and have held up well for me over time.

i got mine from American Apparel. They are really long, i'm 5'10". I bought a Large even tho i'm slim. They were pretty tight when I got them. But after washing and hanging to dry and dancing in them for a few months, they have stretched alot. So I would think that an extra lage would be sufficient.

I like Old Navy's yoga pants--I'm 5'6" and a US size 10, and their mediums fit me perfectly. Mine have held up pretty well, the oldest pair is I think three years old and just starting to fall apart after being worn 2-3 times per week.

I'm 5'9" as well. I love the VS foldover yoga pants so much that I have 4 pairs. I got the 34" length ones and have simply never put them in the dryer.

Lululemon has some gorgeous yoga pants, many styles of which run long. I treated myself to one pair in the fall, and now that I have Christmas money, I might splurge on another pair because they are so comfy and look so sleek. They would definitely be suitable for "schlepping around outside the studio," as you put it. :)

I've also had good luck with Melodia pants made of the "slinky" material. The heavy weight of the fabric pulls the inseam down longer.

I am 5'10" and a big girl. I love my reebok yoga pants. They have a drawstring waist (to help with my recent weight changes) and are long enough even after several washings and trips through the dryer. I get the Large as they are cut very generously. Happy shopping!!

I just got my American Apparel yoga pants from this Ebay vendor (I believe this is the one Tahira mentioned): eBay Seller: kgs4: Men's Clothing, Women's Clothing items on eBay.com

The material isn't quite as thick as that used for the VS yoga pants, but at $31 including shipping for two pairs I ain't complaining! I got the L size, even though I'm a 12-14, and they fit fine and are actually a tad too long. I'm 5'8".

I have some workout pants I got at Target that come in Tall sizes. The brand name is Champion. I think they were ~$25 or so, but they go on sale periodically. I am 5'8" with thick thighs, and they are long enough for me even after multiple washings.

update - I ordered a pair of VS pants. I got the XL and am swiming in them . Like, to the point that I accidentally flashed someone. They are quite long in the rise, longer than I need really. and from the hipbone up to the waist it does seem like they get *wider*... Basically, what I have is a pair of maternity pants, lol!

So, I'm hoping they shrink up in the dryer.

Hey, Zari. Just tried to PM you this but it bounced:

If your new "maternity pants" don't shrink up enough for you in the dryer and you're not going to send them back, I can take them off your hands. (Assuming they're not screaming hot pink or something, that is....) I wear the medium length in an XL and don't mind cutting them off just to wear to class. Let me know if you want to re-sell 'em and buy a pair that fits!

Re: long yoga pants? Lauren, maybe?

    HI Zana,

I'll definitely keep that in mind. I'm gonna try washing them and see if that helps. In the meantime, I ordered another pair in the L to see how that works out for me.

They have them for $14.99 a pair in the clearance catalog, and I had a ten-dollar coupon, so...I figured why not.

Since you like them, I'll also mention that the cheap pants can be ordered off teh website using the "catalogue quick order" feature if you know the product code.

They are $14.99, and codes are:
    30" inseam: 2z-213067
    32" inseam: 2Z-213066
    34" inseam: 2Z-213068

only bummer is that the site will not show you photos of the color swatches, unlike the print catalog. The colo choices are

    75 - teal w/silver
    91 - black w/gold
    45Q - dk violet w/lt. gray
    h53 - navy blue w/fuchsia
    h68 - med. gray w/red
    n27 - med gray w/lime

hope any of that helps! They also have the same foldover yoga pant at the same price in a crop length, with 23" inseam. ID# is 2Z-193-760

Re: long yoga pants? Lauren, maybe?

hey! I just received my VS order confirmation by email, and they overcharged me for the yoga pants! It charged me something like $25 for the $14.99 pants, and didn't apply my ten-dollar gift certificate.

I'm ticked off, because the 'thank you' page confirmed one total, but now I receive an invoice in a higher amount. Not cool! and I have to say their customer service really sucks. When I just called the 800 number to see what is up, I received a chirpy message that due to the 'overwhelming success' of their recet cataliogue, they would not be processing my call, and that I should call back later today or tomorrow. Then it disconnected me. grrr!!!
