georgette vs. chiffon
I think georgette is slightly less sheer and more textured -- "crepey"; is this correct? Why is chiffon the prefered fabric for circle/panel skirts vs. georgette?

Re: georgette vs. chiffon
Because of the way it flows and the fact that you can layer several chiffon skirts over one another without adding a lot of bulk. Those are the main reasons fpr the choice of Chiffon over Georgette.

I think that's right. I also think georgette might be a slight heavier which is why chiffon is used more. I think chiffon is smoother and flows better.

Re: georgette vs. chiffon
thanks. So georgette might look at little more "old school" skirt-wise because it would be less floaty? I think I have to make it to the store this weekend to check them out side by side.

Haha... yeah when I'm strapping 7 yards of material to my body... I prefer it doesn't weigh much!
