Hoda Zaki does a great little trick in the front of her belts for women who ask. She creates a little padded "pillow" area in the middle/front/inside of the belt that sits a couple inches below the top of the belt - so extra tummy hangs over the pillow (but still behind the top of the belt).

Try taking a scarf, fold it in half long ways, then cut the slit the long ways also, in the middle by the fold. Then put your head through the slit, with the rest over your bra, under your belt.

I've used sheerish chiffon scarves, the ones with lurex stripes, and it seemed to work well. Of course, I'm not a pro, dancing in a nightclub or restaurant, but it made me feel good to do this and I liked the pictures afterwards.

Beware about making the slit the right way. First one I did I cut across, making it impossible to use the scarf for anything else since the slit gapped. The second I cut lengthwise and can use it for other wraps, hip poofs, etc. Oh yes, don't forget to whip the edes too.

I don't understand this. Is there a picture of this anywhere?

I have a problem of getting belts.skirts to stay put and not slide down. If I tighten the elastic too much I get a buldge but I'm sick of my costumes sliding down on me. I'm still looking for a solution to this.

To me the traditional bedleh approach overrides "muffin top" because you can make your skirt elastic as tight as you like, just wear the belt less tightly over it. It could be because I am tall and cheap, so I wear my skirts very low to get maximum length out of them, but my skirt and belt are seldom if ever completely level with each other. Skirt goes on, very firm. Belt goes on at comfortable and flattering firmness, and gets pinned to very firm belt. No problem with slide.

Did you do anything with the sides or just leave them loose and kind of open?

The ends are tucked under my belt, but the sides are open. You could put a stitch or 2 to keep them from gaping if you want. There are no hard and fast rules doing this. I didn't mind the sides being unstitched, they poof out a big during turns but I had the ends tucked under my belt with the sides touching, so was pretty well covered.

Instead having sleeves that are attached would detached sleeves work? I was thinking more flowing ones.
