WOW!! I've learned so much already. Thanks for the translations! I too had no idea what bump meant and thought maybe it meant "pass".

If anyone else has seen cryptic words or acronyms on bhuz that you wish someone would explain, feel free to ask about them on this thread and we'll see what we can do to enlighten you!

    I so love this site.

I am learning all kinds of great stuff like I am a Oompa Loompa (very petite dancer).

ETA: edited to add, though I've heard it used as 'estimated time of arrival' outside of bhuz

Turkish Special. Those $49.99 generic Turkish Souvenir costumes that sometimes appear on Ebay. Though they cost more than $49.99 these days.
I admit to owning a couple of them. :Aembarassed:

Since we have some new members, I thought it might be helpful to "bump" this thread back into the "new posts" listing, as a way of helping bhuz newcomers learn some of the insider jargon.

I nominate Bhuzkill for inclusion since that's a popular one lately, given the threadkiller topic. Also DH (Dear Hubby), since it took me forever to figure that one out, having never seen it anywhere but here.

I think of it as 'dear heart' (makes more sense for those of us w/o hubbys). ;)

DH is common on other internet communities as well, as is:

    DW (dear wife)
    DS (dear son)
    DD (dear daughter)
    SO (significant other)
    MIL (mother in law)
    FIL (father in law)

    We mustn't forget....

Office Boy - Troll like male member who may initially masquerade as a female dancer in order to infiltrate and garner confidence and trust.

Yeah...aaah the good old days. I remember getting a batch of tee shirts from Bhuz when it first started up. How many years ago whas that exactly? I can't recall. But I've been on here from nearly day one. Bloody hell, does that make me a SOB? (Sad old Bhuzzer).

Well, in my mind, it's "dear husband" or "damned husband", depending on my frame of mind and his recent behaviour. ..g.:

Someone mentioned "flounce" but we didn't define it.

There should probably be some explanation as to why a thread will suddenly turn into a recipe book ;)

Oh, and what about the nickname "5280" -- or whatever it is. Should we uncover his identity? Or if we do, will he start showing up again?

You know, there's an urban legend that says if you look in the bathroom mirror and say his name 3 times, he'll magically appear and argue you to death.
