Thread: Bhuzzisms - a guide for new bhuz members!

WOW!! I've learned so much already. Thanks for the translations! I too had no idea what bump meant and thought maybe it meant "pass".

If anyone else has seen cryptic words or acronyms on bhuz that you wish someone would explain, feel free to ask about them on this thread and we'll see what we can do to enlighten you!

Since we have some new members, I thought it might be helpful to "bump" this thread back into the "new posts" listing, as a way of helping bhuz newcomers learn some of the insider jargon.

I nominate Bhuzkill for inclusion since that's a popular one lately, given the threadkiller topic. Also DH (Dear Hubby), since it took me forever to figure that one out, having never seen it anywhere but here.

oh, and Bhuz-slap. Sad, but I think it's in the vocabulary now.

Oh is that what DH means? I always wondered!

I think of it as 'dear heart' (makes more sense for those of us w/o hubbys). ;)

DH is common on other internet communities as well, as is:

DW (dear wife)
DS (dear son)
DD (dear daughter)
SO (significant other)
MIL (mother in law)
FIL (father in law)

We mustn't forget....

Yeah...aaah the good old days. I remember getting a batch of tee shirts from Bhuz when it first started up. How many years ago whas that exactly? I can't recall. But I've been on here from nearly day one. Bloody hell, does that make me a SOB? (Sad old Bhuzzer).

I confess I had to do some research about things like "Bump" and many others...

Someone mentioned "flounce" but we didn't define it.

There should probably be some explanation as to why a thread will suddenly turn into a recipe book ;)

Oh, and what about the nickname "5280" -- or whatever it is. Should we uncover his identity? Or if we do, will he start showing up again?
