Something different! I like to try and find good music that hasn't already been done to death (I love the classics as much as anyone but there are some pop numbers that I could happily not hear again for a year or 2!!)

I like Egyptian pop, shaabi with fun accents, songs with tempo changes. And definitely throw some classical pieces in the mix too.

Re: Holiday Contest #4 - Hadia In Performance DVD
My absolute favourite music is a powerful entrance piece with dynamic mood and temp changes. Examples of pieces of music that inspire me again and again (I'm an improv dancer) are Set al hosen, Layali Rouqash, Sayed Balahaa's work, Horacio and Beata numbers (Arabian Dream, Enchanted Mimi, Talisman, etc) and Amir Sofi compositions.
I LOVE HADIA!

Re: Holiday Contest #4 - Hadia In Performance DVD
My absolute favorite is performing to live music. I love the classics: Leylet Hob, Leyla, Ana Fi, mostly medium to fast paced. My husband is a musician and plays Oud and we often perform together.

I'm pretty eclectic when it comes to music - as long as it isn't Hakim!
I tend to like the classics the best though, although I also love Light Rain!"The Veiled Male"

My favorite is old-style Egyptian, think Hassan Abou Seoud's old records...the baladi progressions & drum solos are my favorite kinds of songs to dance to.

I like the old school Eddie the Sheik and George Abdo style music. Miss the hilarious and cheesy album covers, too!

Ohh, Ideally Turkish upbeat music. although a close second would be a live drummer. A live drummer can find energy and moves in you, you never even knew you had :D

I like pieces with several distinct sections, with changing rhythms. Instrumental, not vocal!
