Welcome to Contest #4 of our Holiday Contest Series! Thanks to the help of our very generous sponsors we have another DVD to offer!

I will be forcing a thread for only 24 hours for each contest.

For this contest we are giving away a live performance DVD from Hadia! The DVD is Hadia In Performance, which you can preview on her website, www.hadia.com. Hadia is one of Canada's natural jewels. “She has the energy of a five year old, the wisdom of an old woman and the ageless spirit of a true dancer.” Hadia is considered by all who see her as a dancer’s dancer - in every sense of the word. Hadia has lived and performed through the Middle East and has studied and worked with many of the great masters of oriental dance and folklore. My favorite music is LIVE music!

Really heavy Saidi is one of my favourite kinds of music for performance.

I'd like live music, but since that is scarce, I'll settle for loud music :)

I love Classic Egyptian music and Saidi music.

Love music with lots of music changes! Medium-fast/slow/drum/medium fast/end.

I typically like songs with a beledi/balady structure. I also love love LOVE Greek music and Eddie Kochak albums. :)

I love music that brings out emotions. The artistry of the musicians/singers/composers inspires me!

I like music with lots of juicy accents & changes, that speaks to my soul in some way.

Oh I love Hadia and her dancing!

I love live music best! I like to dance a set with an opening like Raks Leyla so I can zill, then a veil song such as Chapkun, Chapkun or Miserlou or Salla Sana, .... for taxsim I like accordian, violin, kanoun, oud and saz, a lively drum solo, then an upbeat tip song!

A full orchestra of world class musicians of the Arabic music persuasion who all work for me, including compose for me and rehearse with me...in my imagination. :-)

Can I live in Shems imagination?

Egyptian classical, especially if it is fully orchestrated...

Mmm, baladi music. Excpet that I only know how to do classical egyptian style but not actual baladi kind of dancing to it.

My dance style is Turkish Oryantal, but to be honest, I LOOOVE fun shaabi

Balady/beledi . . . . with the shaabi oriented sound thrown in :-)

Gah, I hate picking favourites....

Live music. With lots in it. Something that makes me feel so much that I actually have to tone myself down to get through a performance (generally, this means multiple instruments and varied drumming instead of just a steady raucous beat).

I currently like Mosavo.

Does practice music count if you don't perform?

Right now it's probably a three way tie between Cairo Orchestra, Solace and Beats Antique. Depends on what I'm practicing...
