Problems with bellydanceprops.com
Hey fellow dancers,
I am writing to inform all of you and to ask the community if you have had problems with bellydanceprops.com...
Back in September I ordered a Balady Scimitar and paid via paypal. The purchase processed, my card was charged, and I never received the sword. I emailed the info@bellydanceprops.com address twice and never even received a reply. I am very upset about the whole situation and wanted to let my fellow dancers know. I still have a copy of the paypal confirmation and attached it to the emails I sent too. Let me know if anyone has had trouble with this company and how they dealt with it and if the issue was resolved.

If they do not respond you can file a complaint with Paypal, as a last resort. I do not know the deadline but I seem to recall something about 45 or 60 days. I am certain someone on Bhuz will know the deadline. I have not dealt with that business so I do not have input re their reliability. I would probably email them the same message with attachments every day for a week. If no response I would then contact Paypal. That will show you were diligent in your quest for a response.

If you've left it for over 2½ months then it's definitely too late to set up a paypal complaint, the deadline is 45 days. The system just won't let you. So you've lost that element of protection, I'm afraid.
So it's down to calling, emailing, threatening to report them to the Better Business Bureau, or the police, and if necessary, making good on the threats.

I placed a group order for some swords a while back and had no problem. one of my troupemates ordered several veils and had no problems either. So i don't think this is typical for them. I'd call if I were you.

Obviously I misread the original post. In my mind the order was placed in December. Sorry for my oversight. Hopefully your end-result will be as pleasant as Lauren's.

I'm surprised too, because I've purchased 2 sets of Isis wings from them and had no problems at all, great product, quick delivery. I would keep trying. This sounds atypical for this company, at least by my experience.

I am the owner of BellydanceProps.com. I am very sorry this happened to you. Please contact me at info@bellydanceprops.com. I am not sure what happened previously because you mentioned that you did attempt to email us about your problem and did not get a response. I am wondering if it went to the wrong email address. Please try again to call or email so we can look up your order and verify as to whether it shipped or not. The only case that we would not issue a refund or send you another sword would be if there is a confirmation of delivery with the post office and someone stole it off of your doorstep. This does not happen very often, I think I can think of only a few times that has happened. But, if we find that the sword was not mailed to you and the payment was made, we will be happy to send you one out right away or to issue a full refund. We have records of all payments through Paypal and also of all postage payments via USPS. We would love to resolve this problem for you.
