I am LOVING the East Coast Turkish-ish styling these days. I've been working with Sarah Skinners' veil DVD and really getting into the American style veilwork at the moment.

Where are all you New York types getting these gorgeous 4-yard silk chiffon veils? I've got veil envy SO bad!!!

I'm posting this on Jes's 'inspire me' thread, maybe she'll be inspired to start up a line of silk chiffon veils.

(cuz of course, if I only had the right prop, I'd be able to dance *just* like Mariyah, right?)

Hi Lauren,

I just buy the four yards of silk at the fabric store. I know a dancer who also does sewing and alterations who I pay to hem them. I've also had my local dry cleaner do it once when she was unavailable.
It would be great to get dyed silk chiffon veils! I found a couple of fabrics that are and ombre multicolor and they are gorgeous, but the fabric is just a little heavier than I like.
I usually get solid colors or the iridescent silk which is a very subtle two-tone.
