I just saw Lotus (not me) in performance last night for the first time. Oh my god!! her show was just amazing.

Her persona, her interpretation, technique -- everything! cute costume too. She just had the total package. I know her name has been growing for a while now, but I had only seen some blurry youtube clips. So I wasn't really familiar with her work. It was wonderful to discover such a wonderful, vibrant dancer. Just when you think you've seen all the belly dance world has to offer, and think it's all the same-old same-old, along comes someone you never knew about with a performance to rock your world. It's great.

I just caught the tail end of her perfomance on Sunday, and Wow! She has some stage power, definately total package!!!

I attended the Dancers DVD show last night too and I totally agree with Zari's kudos for Lotus. Her sense of humor and showwomanship is on point and doesn't overshadow or compensate for her dancing. Her technique is tight. Her look is polished. And she gives a great show. Not many of those folks around.

And Zari, I loved your performance too. The combination of emotion and that precious pink costume was wonderful.

Thanks for the compliments! It was great getting a chance to chat with you in the dressing room. You and Adriana were too funny! I finally got a chance to see some the of the West Coast dancers I have long admired. Thank goodness for peek places in the curtains. ..g.:

The entire weekend spent with the BDFD's shoot was wonderful. Michelle has a knack for finding talent and everyone was on their A game! My husband thought all of the dancers were incredible and brought different, yet wonderful things to the stage. He loved the variety of the performances and the format.

Can't wait to see you again!

I have seen her at Rakkasah a couple of times and one time, I hooted an hollered so loud, not realizing her husband was a couple rows up from me. He turned around and grinned, "That's my wife!" I think I turned 20 shades of pink, but it was worth it. She rocked my socks and so did her troupe.

I just wanted to bump this up after this weekend...

I hosted Lotus here in Georgia for a weekend of workshops and they were fabulous! I have heard nothing but positive comments from dancers who were in attendance. This was definitely not the "walk away with one combination" type of class (I still know what my notes mean! lol) and Lotus was so warm and open that everyone felt so comfortable asking all sorts of questions about a variety of dance topics.

I would work with Lotus again in a heartbeat - her dance style is so much fun and she's a wonderful person to boot. :) I'm definitely looking forward to studying with her more when we move to D.C. after our LA stint.

Anyone attending the Vegas Intensive this year you must try to take one of her classes! She is an amazing teacher and dancer! I love her troupe, what a great bunch of girls! Beautiful person too!
