Aszmara!!!

After the workshop in DC this weekend, I think Aszmara deserves a gushing fan post.

What a fabulous dancer! She moves me by how she expresses the music, very lyrical and emotional - I am always totally mesmerized when I watch her videos. And, her dancing is not a whole lot of super-complicated moves or tricks, just very precise and smooth hips that become another instrument. Plus, incredible zill playing. And, she dances to those odd rhythms I love. I am completely in awe ...

Oh I'm so happy you posted this! Aszmara has a style all her own and is a wonderful dancer, I take workshops with her every chance I get.

Aszmara is incredible!! One workshop she did here in northeastern Vermont there was a horrible blizzard. The workshop and show went on and we all had an incredible time. What a professional!

She is hands down one of THE most amazing zill players. And, aside from being an amazing dancer and a true inspiration, she is also a really approachable and caring person. She gave my pregnant belly the most beautiful "blessing" while I was having a scary time during my pregnancy. She is encouraging and yet tells it like it is to an upcoming dancer. I can't say enough about her!
