Aziza
WOW! I like her a lot. What a great dancer, inspiring and at the same time gives me hope that I can one day dance like that. ..g.:

Also, I love her costumes, especially that red one! I love how she isn't constantly moving to every single thing.Last edited by BreaMorgiane; 05-22-2009 at 08:41 PM.

Re: Aziza
Her workshops are fantastic. So is her Practice Companion DVD (I haven't seen her other DVDs.
She's one dancer who's truly worthy of her world-wide reputation.

Re: Aziza
Darn! I won't be in Minnesota next year (okay, well, not darn, thank goodness, but I'd really like to take from Aziza!) Seriously, instant fan here.
I think what I like about her is that she really does give the impression that others might be able to dance like her, and she's a wonderful dancer. I have seen very few dancers that give me that impression - hope! Like she'd be an amazing teacher to study under. I'm not sure if that makes sense, but she seems really open and easygoing in her dance style. Anyway, I love it, and I would like the red costume please! ..g.:

Re: Aziza
Aziza teaches workshops all over the world, so you'll still have opportunities to take from her. She's in Europe pretty regularly.

Re: Aziza
Not only is Aziza a great teacher of technique and skill, she's also one of the most inspiring workshop instructors I've ever taken with. She has so much genuine enthusiasm and love for teaching, and even if you're tired/sore/frustrated, her approach has you willingly and cheerfully pushing past your limits.
As far as her performances, I could watch her for hours. Her dancing is sublime - I love how she has a traditional and classic movement repertoire, but yet her style is really unique. I also think she has the most engaging stage presence of any dancer I've ever seen (it might be a tie between her and Tito...maybe).

So this was one my recommended vids on youtube, looks "vintage" but I really dig it (Aziza starts around 1:35):

Neat! That video really shows what a great dancer she already was, but also how much she's still improving up to today. :-)

Re: Aziza
I was right there with ya SuzyQ:) Wasn't she just amazing? I have been on cloud nine since we met her at the show Friday night.
She has such a warm personality and is so encouraging.
Some one tell me when she heads to Minnesota. My hubby's best friend lives there so I have a built in excuse to get plane tickets. I want to be an Aziza Roadie:) lol

Love Aziza! I've taken one WS from her so far. She performed a veil piece the nite before the WS with a red veil which had me in SERIOUS veil lust! I *HAD* to get a veil just like it! Now if I could just dance like her!

Re: Aziza
I saw a longer version of the first 1:30 min of that 2nd clip several years ago when I was just beginning to explore the world of BDance outside my little bubble and it totally inspired me. And I thought no more about Aziza until I happened upon a workshop recently in the town I've just moved to. Once I realized this was the same Aziza from that long ago clip I had to take the workshop.
Understand, I'm not a bandwagon jumper - ever. If anything I'll step back and watch the wagon roll by with eyes squinted in suspicion even while acknowledging that the wagon's contents are worthwhile and special. (personal issues I guess
)
However, this wagon made me want to follow along and consider maybe riding on the back bumper for a while at a slow speed. ..l;,..l;,..l;,
Her material is innovative and her teaching style is friendly and comfortable. That wonderful personality she has in her dance is not just a dance persona - she's really that much fun.
The last thing I'm going to mention is my personal favorite part of those clips are when she does the marionnette-(sp.?) bit with her isolations - 'pulling' her hips and chest up and down by invisible strings....so cute!
Wow...that was the longest post I've ever written ..g.:Last edited by MelissaKay; 08-06-2009 at 06:32 PM.

Re: Aziza' new DVD
Okay, I am going to be a total dork and post on my own fan forum. But who else to squeal to that MY NEW DVD "Hands, Arms and Poses" IS (almost) OUT!! Which means it is now past the editing process and is in duplication. I feel like I am in labor! I am really proud of the work that went into this DVD. It is the first from my own production company "Azizaraks Productions" and produced by my husband Eric Perreault of Breakfree Pictures. He put together a Dream Team and I am thrilled by the results. So we will have the DVDs on Dec. 12th and we are taking pre orders for those of you who might want to recieve it before the holidays. I can't wait to hear what you think...
Order here;
Aziza
I am giddy with excitement!
