Yasmina of Cairo
I am both a fan, and ehem, putting on some really exciting workshops with her in Edinburgh (UK) from 10/11/12 July classes Its worth the trip and the studio is very near the airport. Many budget airlines fly into Edinburgh. Classes are normally around 25 people (yes, twenty-five), classes costs £20 - £22 each. Will be on sale soon !
There is a whole programme of events over the weekend, Egyptian style classes with Yasmina including pop saidii and musical interpretation, plus something more challenging for the advanced and professionals on the Friday eve.
We have Roisin, who is a trained /practicing physiotherapist teaching how to warm up and stretch, and how to incorporate into your own practice, or safely warm up your class. Roisin has been treating dancers for many years now in her day job, and will be going over injury-preventative stretching discipline.
On Saturday night, we're going tribal ! The inimitable Sarisvati Tribal will be performing their show with special guest dancer - me !
Belly Dance Divas (UK) likes to bring together all genres of the dance, so that classmates we previously trained with can again rub shoulders, so this weekend is particularly satisfying for me to arrange.

I forgot to mention - I only use top class venues, with mirrors & sprung floors, changing rooms, lockers and showers. This venue has an onsite cafe and plenty of free parking.

Re: Yasmina of Cairo
And lest we forget. . . . Yasmina has been busy producing some very good dance music over the years. I really loved the last one "Aheb Masr" AND there is a new one in the works in Cairo right now! :)

Re: Yasmina of Cairo
Count me in! I participated four Yasmina of Cairo's workshops a couple of weeks ago. Two of them were technique, one saidi with cane and one choreography. The music used in the both choreographies were from Yasmina's brand new album called "El Warda". I warmly recommed Yasmina's new CD!
Yasmina is an excellent teacher; she is also patient, friendly and talented. And she was so humble even she is a big and beautiful
!
I will definitely attend more Yasmina's workshops in the future... actually the next one(s) will be at International Bellydance Congress in England in September ..g.:.Last edited by Maryam; 08-22-2009 at 09:42 AM.
