I have to say I miss Hannan A LOT!!!! She's a truly WONDERFUL, inspiring and generous teacher and a mesmerizing performer (and a beautiful person). I cried when she moved back to the US.... (and whenever she comes to Toronto I just want to kidnap her! LOL)
Dancers close to North Carolina: you are so lucky to have her near you now!!!

Hi Jasani,

Yes, Hannan was a student of Aziza (and has since developed also her own unique style) and yes we do 'have' Aziza, but she's in Montreal and she travels a lot around the world, so we don't 'really' 'have her' more than anybody else in workshops and special visits. :-)

I LOVE Aziza too (I love soo many dancers), but Hannan is my mentor and I got too spoiled to have her in TO all the time for a number of years... ;-)

Yes, we were totally spoiled when she was here. *sniff* Those lucky Durham gals!

I am just so thrilled that she still comes up here a few times a year to do workshops. I try to absorb as much as possible in that context, but it's just not the same as weekly or bi-weekly classes. And I really miss seeing her dance.

Have you seen this yet? It looks like a new clip. She's so perfectly graceful. I am counting down to her November workshop at Susu's. We should have Hannan advent calendars!

I learned so much (read: she's an amazing and articulate instructor!) while studying with her in Toronto. I had my first bellydance troupe experience with her as well. Hannan is so supportive and approachable and she genuinely cares about her students, no matter what their goals are in this art. And she's a lovely lady, too! I'm so proud to have such an excellent mentor and friend! Exclamation overdose, I know, but she's that terrific in so many ways!

Oh! That's a WONDERFUL clip Anuka!!, where did you get it??? how on Earth I hadn't seen it yet???? and I thought I was good at stalking her (LOL!!). Thanks for sharing!!!! it looks very professionally done, is it part of a collection?? I would really really really like to see Hannan in one of those wonderful "Dancers for dancers" Performance DVD's, I would be SO happy!!

Ahmber: yes she is in lovely North Carolina now in Durham.
I believe it is her mom who is the webmaster and/or moderator of bhuz, but not sure on that one!
