I hope you enjoy... and would be happy to see the videos that gave you similar emotions.

    sorry so they are not just two, I couldn't pick just a couple ..l;,

    I've always liked her. She has the most beautiful arms, it's kind of rare to see as much variety in arm movements nowadays. And her floorwork is beautiful - real dancing and art in interpreting the music. In fact, the only thing I didn't like -was the music!

    I don't have a clip, but seeing Eva Cernick do a restaurant show for us here in Tokyo made a table of us cry like little babies.

    This one is not the same, but it's also very beautiful:

    wow! the music was one of the elements that got to me in this particular performance.... I guess it's really the variety of styles this dance has that somewhat fit our own personality and taste :)

    Dina at Ahlan Wa Sahlan in 2007 brought tears to my eyes. I'll see if I can find something similar.

    I´ve tried to find clips of Khaled doing balady, but couldn´t find any. He has a very old balady song he has done at Beatas and Horatios festivas this summer and he did it at the Congress, and it´s absolutely breathtaking. I get shivers, my hearts is racing and I´m balling my eyes out

    Also this
    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KSbiYA_Xeg]YouTube - Aziza at Eilat festival 2009[/ame]

    This clip does not do the choreo and Azizas feeling justice, it´s absolutely fantastic and I have seen many other dancers doing it, but no other will ever do it justice than Aziza! The artistic vision and her feeling is something else!

    My darling Lena
    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jKXxTTUqaU]YouTube - Lena Helt in Oslo 2006[/ame]

    Her skill to choreograph and her music ear is fantastic! She is tons of fun to be around, and has a way of making even the most untalanted people dancers..l;, And you know she will be in Orlando at Azizas Birthday Bash (and so will I) so do not miss out on that!

    And last but not least
    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQeFBbiHzJg&feature=PlayList&p=3D872747F78 8B919&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=60]YouTube - Lubna Emam[/ame]

    Anything Lubna does just moves me. I adore and love her so much. She is so tiny but on stage she her presence is bigger than life. The joy she has when she is dancing moves my heart like nothing else!

    Just so you know, this is NOT Delilah's original music used for this dance. This was posted by someone who dubbed different music over it, in fact someone who likes posting belly dance clips, all taken out of their original context by overdubbing. Delilah's floorwork is indeed awesome here, I'm just irritated by people like this who overdub music.

    I think that this strips the dancer of her role as an artist in a dance. I think on some level the people who do this, know this, and it becomes a means of taking power away from a dancer so she becomes just a body.

    I'm not meaning to rain on your enjoyment of the clip. But do try to see her original dance with the original music if you ever get the opportunity.

    I know so many dancers hate those Cowboy Wayne clips but I actually like them. I mean as long as it's clear that it was changed and they don't make money on it. I really thought that Maria Shashkova- Laffy Taffy clip of his was so funny and cute. But people hated it so much that he removed it. If the dancer herself hates it I understand but I just don't get what the big deal is. As long as they don't use a song like "There's some hoes in this house," or something, I don't mind it.

    I would love to see Deliliah's actual music with the clip. I felt like that beautiful floor work didn't go with the music.

    wow, I actually had not noticed, I guess the guy did a decent job adapting a song to her movements... plus the camera angles, the costume, the look... I mean the music fit nicely to me. I agree that this type of dubbing may get annoying at times but in this particular case it made me appreciate her delicate movements, plus I personally found the adaptability of her style very emotional to me... i guess this is because I am a jazz fan? The more I learn about this dance the more I get to enjoy its many faces and styles, it's amazing.
    Having said this, now that I know it's not the original music... it would be wonderful to actually get to hear the real music to the coreo!

    I guess I dislike them because a dancer creates a dance to go with specific music. Whether it is a choreography that she labored over, with careful consideration each note and nuance, or an improvised performance in which she drew off of countless thousands of hours of listening, learning, knowing a particular musical genre, it is a creation association with a particular piece of music.

    I can't really understand what possible motivation there would be for disassembling this, outside of an attempt (conscious or not) to make the dancer less than what she is.

    But whatever, this is just my opinion. I was very surprised to see that Delilah posted a favorable comment about the video in question, so I suppose if she's happy it's on youtube, its all good.

    You're probably right, I don't often take things seriously enough for most people's taste. I think they should as permission first because people feel differently about their art. I do spend lots of time getting ready for performances and if it was something serious and emotional to me I guess I would be upset if someone just put a funny song to it like they were making fun.

    But I think Deliah's clip was presented in a respectful way. The Maria Shashkova clip I was talking about was originally to Shik Shak Shok so it was already an upbeat happy performance and it seemed to fit.

    Eva! I finally saw her for the first time a couple of months ago. I had long been wanting to see her because I believe Nanna Candelaria is a big admirer of hers, but I don't hear about her that often. She really took my breath away, too.
