    Who was Aziza's(Oregon)main teacher?

I just received Aziza's dvd on arms and poses. It had a "vintage" performance on it that I enjoyed. As I was watching, I was wondering who her main teacher was when she was "growing up" in the dance. Anyone know?
    Thanks

I think she started with Ruby (not the current young Ruby) of Portland.

Thanks! I admire so many of the well-known dancers, but I'm always curious about their younger years in dance and also their "other everyday life". Just curious I guess. Makes them more real to me.....

I doubt it. I studied with Ruby for years and never saw her perform... not once. Both she and Nemra studied with Badawia--a legend in the NW. Sadly, no vids exist of her. What I would pay to see them!! ..cr.:

Yeah, Badawia was unforgettable, I still have vivid memories of a performance she did in 1976!
