She is one my favorites. I took a private with her last year and she's a great teacher to boot. If I lived in São Paulo I'd take regular classes with her for sure.

great clip!! she's one of my favorite Brazilian dancers. Gah, i dream of the day I can tour the world and take from all these amazing people. not only is she a great dancer, she's so stunningly gorgeous too.

also what i love about her is that her personality shows in her dancing. she just seems like such a sweetheart in her dancing, it makes you feel like you've known her for forever...idk, that sounds corny but that's what i think of when i watch her lol! that and she has enough charisma to keep her audience paying attention to her whoooole performance. sometimes ya lose them with the slow parts, but she just has 'it'!

Well, there aren't a lot of slow parts to her dancing. But you're right, she never loses them. There are some other amazing dancers in clips from the same nights, and you can see that the audience appreciates her so much more.

And I think she's grown so much as a dancer. In that clip from Workfest for example, she is amazing (it was the first video I saw of her and it made me fall in love), but you can see how much she's grown since then. She is faster, more powerful, her dance is more complex now. You can see (especially in the video of her in black, with the pony tail) how she incorporates some Randa-isms that you don't see in her older videos.

Personally, I like her style now just as I did then, but it's definitely evolved a lot in only 3 or 4 years. I see other dancers from the same region, and comparing their clips from then to more recent ones, there is very little difference.

So lucky that you've studied with her! I've been watching her videos for a while, and I agree that her style is really growing. She's definitely influenced my dancing in the past year. Been working on the feminine and floaty, yet powerful and athletic dancing.

I've also been finding clips now of what I think may be some of Kahina's students. One in particular, Vanessa Castro, also has the lightness on her feet, but she also does some very beautiful and innovative veil work.

I don't think Vanessa Castro is her student. But you're right, she dances beautifully.

I agree, after more research, I don't think she's Kahina's student. But anyway, she's another lovely Brazilian dancer.
