an impressive dancer from Buenos Aires. I love her long arms and superflexible hands. With all great technique and exhuberance the Argentinian dancers always show, in her the moods and expression seem the main thing. She's playful and passionate and it's a pleasure to watch her. Yes, from a very arab-style point of view you could say, she's making more of a show than interpreting an arab classic, but then again, her audience is close and responsive, so the interaction is maybe the main thing here:

"Yes, from a very arab-style point of view you could say, she's making more of a show than interpreting an arab classic"
Are you referring to her interpretation of her moves to the music or of her movements relating to lyrics?
I didn't feel the "show" part, I loved the way she moves! I'm glad you shared this. I really do envy those girls in the southern hemisphere. They show so much confidence in their bodies and total commitment in their movements. I'll be honest, I'm not that comfortable in my own skin yet....

Re: Antonella Rodríguez
Oh in Daret el Ayam she is flirting and playing a lot with the audience, it's more her and the audience than her with the music. From what I read and see on bhuz, dealing with the Arab classics dancers are often more reverential when it comes to O(um) K(halsoum) pieces.
I don't say it's wrong what she does. She dances with live music, has a responsive audience and she's obviously enjoying it. And I think she is shining and wonderful.

Re: Antonella Rodríguez
The first video really bothered me. If I didn't hear the music I would assume she's dancing to a pop song or better an Oriental routine. She completely missed the point for me there, and I don't see how the audience could be an excuse. Dancing to Daret El Ayam in a hafla mode just doesn't do it for me. Other than that, she is simply gorgeous :) Thanks for posting!
