I heart Patricia... And Beata. And Horacio..

    Wow...

I went to my first "real" show this weekend, and my first "real" workshop!

I was supposed to travel to the festival with a friend, but she called me 11.30 the night before, telling me she couldnt go :O

So I called my teacher who arranged the festival (It was in another city), and she told me that her dance partner and best friend, said that I could stay with her for the weekend! :D So I cancelled the Hotel room, wich I couldnt affoard on my own.

I had never met her before, but I travelled to Stavanger friday morning, and met up with my teacher, and her friend, Monica, "backstage".

Then I went to the audience, and watched the show.

I was amazed.... I had never seen a tribal dancer IRL before. Patricia was AMAZING! So was Beata and Horacio, ofcourse.. :D
But I really couldnt concentrate for he rest of the show. All I could think about, was Tribal Fusion.

I do remember Horacio doing a dance in a white costume, that I really also liked.

After the show I helped my teacher packing up all the stuff, and drove the Stars and their suitcases to the Hotel.

Then I went to stay at Monicas place for the night. She was such a nice person! So kind, and smiling and helpful.

Re: I heart Patricia... And Beata. And Horacio..

Next morning we drove to the place that the workshops were held. It looked like a mess, because of construction work. We cleaned it up, as best as we could, and rigged the basar. Then we drove to pick up the Stars from the hotel.

First, I took ballet with Horacio. He is such an amazing teacher! And so kind, and humorous! :D

Then I took Oriental tecnique, first 2 hours with Beata, and then 2 hours with Horacio.
    I loved both of them!
Beata is so patient, and a very good teacher! She was so warm and smiling! I loved the coreo! Cant remember it anymore, but I remember it was a lot of fun! :D

Then Horacio took over, and I really loved him too!
I have broblems with my pelvic muscles, and he showed me a good way to strech after the class! So nice of him!

After the workshops on saturday, we drove the Stars back to the hotel, and then hurried to my teacher to shower before dinner! 3 women in one bathroom, trying to get ready in 20 minutes! Lol!

Then it was time for dinner at Alanya.
Beata, Horacio, Patricia, Mimi, Patricias boyfriend, and a member of the crew joined us.

There were 3 performances, the first was a student of my teacher, the second of a local tribal dancer, Anja, and the last was Madam Qadam, from Oslo :) (Laila)

The food was great, and the dancers were really good. :)

After dinner, me and Monica went back to her place, and got a couple of hours slepp, befor we had to get up for the workshops on sunday.

We both overslept, so no time for makeup that morning! Lol!

We hurried to the workshop location, and met up with my teacher. We arranged the basar area, and then picked up The Stars :D

That day, I had signet up for "a taste of tribal/ATS, for beginners. But the night before, I asked Monica if I could take the next class also, because I was in love..

So I took A taste of Tribal/ATS first, and then Tibal Fusion tecnique. Both with Patricia.

And just WOW! She is really the best teacher I have ever had! She is such a nice person! She breaks down the movements so well! And she gave us sooo much info on both Tribal Fusion and ATS!

She is a really great dancer, and so inspiring...

I remeber writing my Secret Habibi wishlist just a couple of weeks ago.. The thing I didnt want, was "hairfalls or whatever its called. Tribal stuff."

Haha! Lol! Up until friday night, all I could think about was cabaret, sparkly costumes, and beeing an arabic princess.. :D

Now, Im selling all my costumes, so I can affoard travelling to Germany to take classes in Tribal fusion from Patricia! :D

If anyone has a chance to take a workshop with her, do it! She is truly amazing...

This has definately been the best weekend of my life...

So many nice people, and discovering Tribal...

Patrizia is great. Very professional and charming and her dance is all sparkly and temperamental.

Thumbs up Re: I heart Patricia... And Beata. And Horacio..

I'm not a Tribal dancer, but YES! WOW! Patricia and her troupe were FANTASTIC! I've NEVER seen such precision in movement and the illusions, how did she make her arms go backwards??? I know it wasn't backwards, but it was the ILLUSION of going backwards. I wished I had taken her class, but... perhaps next year... if she will come back to the US,r:;!!!
