LOL, Meissoun, you read my mind...I thought this is a good lesson about "developing once's style" (not boobs, you should not always think of that) but I wonder can I do the same for my dance that she has done, take the most "my own style" and grow to what it has brought her like she has done. how do I choose my signature movement, or is there such a thing?

lol, I tried to post this in another thread, but it came up as deleted. I love this video, there was such a sweet innoncence about her when she was young. Now shes been there done that, and seen it all.

Ohhhh, I love this clip. You can see the full show on one of Saut wa Soora's videos - I'll look and see if I can find the name. She later does an awesomely cute malaya leff and last comes out in a very 80s miniskirt, boustier, and looooooooong ponytail.

I have to say, I find her innocence really touching. You have to think - this is before the sex scandal and her humiliation, before most of the marriages, before she lost a husband to cancer. All of that tends to change a person.

I am inclined to agree with Anala's "drunken sailor" reference, as well as Bellydancingcaroline's comment about presence. It's as if she's learned to do less to command the stage more.

Ah well, everyone has their preference for a dancer's "best" period in the dance life.

Concerning the drunken sailor style: Up until a month ago I never thought Dina was that great, I never understood why she was so famous. My opinion COMPLETELY changed when I saw her perform live. Not only does she command the stage but her body really is dead on with every beat of her music. She also has the most personality and emotional expression ive ever seen from a dancer.

Old videos of her are great, its interesting to see how shes changed.

I never thought Dina was that great, I never understood why she was so famous. My opinion COMPLETELY changed when I saw her perform live. I had the same experience last summer. But she practically brought me to tears. Now I can't wait to see her live again. She really connects to her audience instead of it being all about "look what i can do," it's about sharing a love of the music with the audience. at least that's how i experienced it.

I love this clip....I love Dina. She's playful and sweet...her turns are beautiful, she dances with grace and purpose. I also love the 90's hair....Big A$$ Bangs!!!
