Re: Tito Seif news
Oh good - two more links for my male dancer's links page. I hope he puts a "skip intro" on the flash splash page though...

Re: Tito Seif news
skip intro is already available there (bottom, right side). The actual problem is that there is nothing more to open up after the intro. But I hope it builds up. I even tested with different browsers to check if it is only flash that keeps me from seeing the rest. But I think is is coming, let's wait and see.

Ah, but the flash has to LOAD before the 'skip intro' shows up.
But still, you're right - let's wait and see! ..g.:

I would LOVE a McDonalds cup with Tito and his autograph on it.
I just took Tito's workshop in Redwood City - he was absolutely incredible. Wowie. All I could think was MUST... TAKE.... MORE ....WORKSHOPS ..FROM... TITO. I am such a dazzled geeked-out fan of his.

Re: Tito Seif news
Hala hosted Tito in Redwood City, California. He taught an oriental, a melaya leff, a cane, and a shaabi and then at the very end he started to teach another oriental. My brain was scrambled by the end but I have been so inspired ever since. And now I am a Tito evangelist.
When he is teaching it is like he is performing - similar to Raqia Hassan. He repeats, repeats, repeats- which is great. He doesn't speak a lot of english but his movement is clear and he communicates really well regardless. Enthusiastic, versatile, warm, performative teacher and so musical. I loved the choreographies he taught - lots of Reda and Aida Nour influence I could see.
Hala hosted a show for him - there was a standing ovation - the audience went wild. He did his 4 cane dance, a tannoura dance, a drum solo and during the finale he jumped off the stage into the auditorium and walked across the audience on the theater seats!! I kept thinking as he did each number how can it possibly get any better than this and then it just DID - it just kept getting better and better. We were all just so blown away by the time the show was over.
Tito has so much charisma, grace, strength, humor and he really connects directly with audience. He is so RELAXED, centered and his movements are effortless - and still incredibly poised and elegant. He can do all the gooey, sassy, funky, funny shaabi stuff and also all the elegant oriental gliding around fancy footwork. Funny and frank. So in charge of the audience. And then of course all the incredible tricky man dance stuff. And number one he is just so comfortable in his own skin. Inside the music and radiating out to the audience. I could just blather on and on......
Whatever it is that he has, I don't know if it can be learned???!!! *sob*
Yes, there is much hard work on technique, there is experience and mileage, lots of listening, lots of learning and language and culture and then there is that extra *supernatural* magic that makes everything whole in a dancer. What IS THAT??????
I want to be around whatever *it* is Tito has and humbly hope even a tiny bit of it can sink in via osmosis. Please god. Let's hope and pray his charm and his chops are contagious. Sigh.. If only it were that easy.
I hope he comes to Seattle. Otherwise I am going to have to make it down to the Bay Area every time he goes there. I think Hala is going to try to bring him next year.
He is teaching a workshop tomorrow in Hollywood. Wish I could be there. All you L.A. dancers go, go, go to it!! I am telling you I don't think you will be disappointed. - Noor

Thanks for sharing the news. Here is a clip from his performance (posted three days ago) and it tells also about his background and thoughts about dance.

Re: Tito Seif news
I took two workshops with Tito this summer , and have to echo everything that Noor~ posted. His technique is, IMO, as good as you can get, and the charisma pours out of him just as much when he's teaching as when he's performing. I think the only negative this I can say about taking his workshops was that it took the first five minutes of class to focus and stop acting like a blushing schoolgirl. And I have to agree 100%, despite his limited English, I had no problem whatsoever learning from him (even though he was my first workshop instructor from "over there"). He communicates quite clearly, primarily through demonstration.

Re: Tito Seif news
I just saw him last month and he said he probably won't be back until next year. It's all up to the sponsors, thier budgets and everybody's schedule. Hopefully next year the stars will all fall into place and he will be back.
