Thread: Teachers Near Dixon IL?

Hello. My friend saw me dancing and would like to start. Unfortunetly she doesn't live by me. Are there any teachers doing beginner bellydance classes near the Dixon area? Thanks!

Likely her two best choices would be:
1) us over here in Carbondale, IL (Sedonia, myself and our other colleague Lisa) who teach at the SIUC Student Recreation Center and at Great Shapes For Women Fitness Center
or
2) our good friend Ligaya down in Paducah, KY (through their Parks & Recreation)

I'm not aware of anyone currently teaching the dance that would be closer to her than these two sources.

isn't Dixon near Chicago?

It is near Sterling, Rockfalls and Rochelle area

D'oh! Here my brain went directly to Dixon Springs (a recreational area here in southern Illinois). Of course Dixon (the town) is up near Chicago-land (though Chicago would be a bit of a drive for her - a minimum of an hour just to get to the western areas). Chicago area ladies (and gentlemen), who do you know that might be closer to her (say in Sterling/Rock Falls, Rochell or even DeKalb)?

Of Course I would send her to you if she was down south! I've seen you dance she would be lucky to have you guys as a teacher.

Aren't you sweet! Flattery might get you every where! ..l;, Sure hope we finally get some helpful responses here for you to pass along to her. I know what it's like trying to find a teacher for somebody when they are somewhere else. Sedonia and I had one of our sweet younger things move up to the Rock Island/Moline/Davenport/Bettendorf area and I was unable to find anybody in her immediate vicinity to pass her along to prior to her departure from here. Us dancers might be all over the place, but that doesn't mean we are everywhere.
